1. She Loves Ice Baths
Mellencamp is a fan of taking ice baths as a way to recover. And according to this Instagram video, she loves to take ice baths with her husband, Edwin Arroyave. Mellencamp captioned the video, “I would like to pretend that my first time spending 2 minutes in an ice bath/cold plunge I was calm, cool and collected and perfectly in tune with my husband. I may have had some outbursts, panicked and took me a minute to get my breathing under control but I did it. Afterwards I can’t even explain how incredible we both felt.”
2. She Hikes

Mellencamp lives in gorgeous Southern California, which has a lot of options for hiking. And according to this Instagram photo Mellencamp posted for Earth Day, she likes to take advantage of all those spots. In the photo, Mellencamp is seen perched on a mountain, with a gorgeous view.

After giving birth to her third child in 2020, Mellencamp was open about her journey to lose the baby weight. One of the approaches she took was not putting too much pressure on herself to lose the weight, and celebrated the small accomplishments she had. “I will say that I am 9lbs away from where I was before I had Baby Dove. But you know what, I’m not making myself crazed to try and lose those 9lbs— rather focusing on non-scale victories,” she wrote on Instagram.
4. She’s Consistent

In the same Instagram post, Mellencamp says that being consistent with exercising and healthy eating has helped her lose the baby weight, and has helped with her mental health. "Having that consistency of clean-eating and daily activity gave me a routine that helped me manage my time and anxiety,” she wrote.
5. She Avoids Buying Junk Food

In one Instagram post, Mellencamp shared some of her grocery shopping tips, including how to avoid temptation. “Focus on stocking your fridge, freezer, and pantry with whole, healthy foods,” she wrote. “If there is less junk food, there is less temptation.”
