1. She Hikes
Like so many stars who live in California, Rachael takes advantage of the rugged terrain. She loves going on hikes and sharing photos of her workouts on Instagram. "If adrenaline, which is produced by the body to cope with real or perceived danger, isn’t released from the body, it accumulates, causing muscle tension and feelings of anxiety. Walking releases this adrenaline. Results showed immediate decreases in tension and anxiety after walking, regardless of how fast or slow the participants walked," says the American Hiking Society. "Endorphins released by your body during a walking workout can lift your spirits and keep them there throughout the day or night – keeping your brain as healthy as your body."
2. She Does Beachbody Workouts
Rachael is a big fan of Beachbody at-home workouts. “Who says you have to leave your house to get some cardio in?” she captioned this video. She maintains she has learned “countless cardio exercises” through the app that can be done anytime anywhere. She revealed her workout, which consists of five rounds of the following 30 second exercises: jumping lunges, v crunches, squat jacks, mountain climbers, hip dip planks, curtsy lunges.
3. She Stays Active Outdoors
Rachael is incredibly active outdoors. In the winter, Rachael heads to the snow to get some skiing in. In the summer, she hits the beach and goes boating, on walks, and explores cities during her travels.
4. She Does a 5-Minute Ab Workout
Rachael swears that her abs are the result of a 5-minute workout. “Every abdominal muscle will be engaged with these five workouts and I learned this through taking classes on @myopenfit app,” she captioned this video. “Whether you’re in a studio or in the comfort of your own home, you can use OpenFit from anywhere. Do each exercise for 30 seconds and run through the circuit 2X.”
5. She Cheats
Rachael maintains a healthy diet, but is all about indulging on occasion. One of her favorite sweet treats? Ice Cream. “We should be paying rent here by now…” she captioned this Instagram post devouring an ice cream cone. Make sure you have a realistic serving size. " On the old Nutrition Facts label, serving size represented the amount of food that you probably should eat. For example, the serving size for ice cream used to be 1/2 cup. But Americans' portion sizes have increased over the years. So to help you calculate the number of calories you're actually consuming, the new label lists the serving size you are likely to eat. The new serving size for ice cream is 2/3 cup," says the Mayo Clinic.
