She Manages Her Acne
O'Grady revealed some of her skincare tips to Glamour. She revealed that she struggles with acne, and has to live a lifestyle that helps manage it. "Acne has been a journey for years," she says. "I think it has a lot to do with maintenance and using the right products for my skin. Also, being really good with diet, because I feel like acne comes from the inside out."
She Uses Products That Are Gentle
O'Grady revealed some of her favorite skincare products to Glamour. She says that she tries to pick ones that are gentle. "I use what feels refreshing and gentle on my skin," she says. "I used to be really harsh with my skin when I was working out, and putting so much on it."
She Has A Positive Mindset
O'Grady tells Glamour that she is trying to be more positive. She says that she is working on accepting her acne, and this has led to her accepting other parts of herself. "I'm trying to reframe my mindset, and just having a positive mindset has been really important," she says. "And not fixating on having acne—I think that's actually helped me a lot."
She Loves Probiotics
O'Grady loves probiotics, and not just for her diet. She tells Glamour that her favorite skin cleanser has probiotics in it. "It uses probiotics to help you with your skin—I try to incorporate probiotics in my diet, but it's also nice to have them in a skin-care brand. They're gentle, it's easy to keep a routine with the products, and they're also vegan and cruelty-free."
She Supports Others
O'Grady believes in supporting other people and causes. She tells Essence, "It's important to treat people with human decency. That's so important to me as a person. Whatever group or marginalized group that you are in. And even in my experience of being a Black woman, there are privileges that I have. I see Black trans women dealing with so much discrimination, getting murdered. We all have to stick up for one another. I've just always felt that way and always cared about people feeling loved and heard."
