1. Gut-Friendly Breakfast

Stratus enjoys healthy, gut-friendly foods for breakfast. “We eat mostly organic, unprocessed foods and we don’t have dairy on the regular (as in we don’t drink cow’s milk, but we are okay to an ice cream cone once in a while!),” she says. “Breakfasts are usually any of the following: eggs, sprouted bread, nut butters, oatmeal, and non-dairy yogurt.”

2. Keep a Food Journal

Stratus’ advice for anyone wanting to stay on top of their diet is to keep a nutrition journal. “It’s a great way to help you realize what’s working in your diet and it keeps you accountable,” she says. “It’s the one tool that I always recommend to people who are looking to start making changes in their eating habits. I’ve used one consistently for more than 10 years, starting back in my fitness days. Recording everything will give you the best chance to get fit and eat more nuTRISHionally — pun intended!”

3. Protein and Grains

Ready,Healthy,Food,Catering,Menu,In,Lunch,Boxes,Fish,AndShutterstock

Stratus enjoys protein, grains, and vegetables for lunch and dinner. “Lunches and dinners include lean proteins like chicken, grass-fed beef and fish – we usually eat fish 2-3 times a week, quinoa is the favorite grain around here and lots of veggies,” she says. “Some of my staples for snacks are vegan protein powder, hemp seeds, all nuts and fruit and we use coconut oil, grass-fed butter, and avocado oil to cook our food. Pretty simple, and clean and that allows us to have a cheat here and there with NO guilt! We look forward to our pizza nights and burger nights out.”

4. Working Out Through Pregnancy

Stratus worked out throughout her pregnancy and highly recommends it. “I cannot stress enough the importance of eating well and exercising throughout your pregnancy,” she says. “You have total control to create an environment that is nourishing for your baby. Be as educated as you can about the whole process. It helps when you know what to expect and it will allow you to cope with all of it better.”

5. Yoga Sessions

When Stratus is not training for the ring, she enjoys regular yoga sessions. “I have a 20 minute yoga routine which is derived from the style of yoga I designed (Stratusphere Yoga), which has calisthenics and strength moves incorporated into a yoga flow, so you get the best of both worlds,” she says. “I do this every day – I like it as a way to set my intention with my meditation and also if I don’t get a run or outside training session in, I’m still covered.”

Wrestling champion Tiffany Stratton is embracing her blonde bombshell image with the help of fellow fighter Nikkita Lyons. Stratton, 24, shared pictures of herself and Lyons posing in bikinis that emphasized their toned athletic figures, against a background of blue skies and greenery. “Paint the town blonde 💣,” Stratton captioned the sultry post. “Blondes do it best!” Lyons commented. How does the athlete stay fighting fit? Here are 5 ways she takes care of her health.

1. Trained By the Best

Wrestling legend Greg Gagne trained Stratton and says she was impressive right from the start. "She was a handful,” Gagne says. “A friend of mine asked me, I wasn't doing anything, 'Would you train this girl? She wants to be a professional wrestler.' She had a great background, she [had] five years with the U.S. gymnastics team, and she won first place. And then she went into bodybuilding, first place, set a record in her weight lifting class, and she wanted to wrestle."

2. Inspired By Shawn Johnson

Stratton has a background in gymnastics, and says she was inspired by Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson. “When Shawn Johnson came in, it turned everybody’s heads because, like I said, she was very dominant. She was strong,” she says. “She did all these really cool, powerful skills. Then when the United States went to the Olympics, she actually helped the team be super dominant compared to all the other countries. I think that was the moment where I fell in love with her.”

3. Heavy Metal Lover

Stratton uses music to help push her to work out harder. “I listen to heavy metal when I work out,” she says. “Like, I listen to screamo music, like Disturbed. I listen to Shinedown. I listen to, what’s another one, Three Days Grace. I’m into all that screamo music when I work out. When I workout I want to work out hard and that music gets there.”

4. Confidence Is Key

Stratton says her skills have grown with her confidence, making her a fighter to be reckoned with. “My confidence has changed a lot,” she says. “I definitely feel like I found who I am in life, but [also] in the ring. I’ve really found who I am in the ring, and I think that’s a big factor that people don’t realize is just figuring out who you are in the ring and what drives you and what motivates you. I’ve really honed in on my craft and I think that has been the biggest game changer for me is just figuring out who I am in this industry.”

5. SmackDown Fan

Stratton was a big fan of wrestling before she ever decided to take it up as a career. “I was a gymnast up until I was 19 or 20 years old,” she says. “I kind of saw wrestling on TV. I always knew about it; my brother and my dad would always watch it growing up. I never really got into it until later on. I was still a gymnast and I saw SmackDown on my TV one day flipping through the channels with my family. And I saw it and was immediately like, ‘wow that’s so cool, I feel that’s a lot of the things that I can do.’ I saw Charlotte Flair doing her corkscrew moonsault out of the ring. I saw that and was like, ‘that is so cool, I can totally do that, I do that on the trampoline like every day.'”

In an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, Natalya Neidhart opened up about what she eats before a match. “I went to the Sky Lounge in the LaGuardia airport and had a little bit of Greek yogurt and a cappuccino with skim milk. I always like to have a little bit of coffee in the morning — it’s more of a ritual for me than the taste. I like to sit and have 15 minutes to myself to just drink my coffee and reflect and think about what my day is going to be like. They served a breakfast burrito on the plane. To be brutally honest, I don’t really love airplane food, but no matter what, you can make something out of nothing. I had a couple of bites, that that way I could feel like I was getting a little bit without all the calories. Then I just had water on the plane. Whenever I travel I try to hydrate as much as possible. I hate that dehydrated feeling, it makes me super tired. They also served some fresh fruit so I had a little bit of that. That way when I landed I didn’t feel too bloated or heavy.”

4. Carmella

Back when I was younger in Australia, I wanted to be a wrestler and loved what I did with WWE. It’s completely different now. It’s not five minutes on TV where I’m asked to do such and such. I’m not against the losing weight part. But, I’m against calling people out for it. And I’m against people who call themselves fans thinking it is okay to criticize a woman’s body because it is more than doing squats. I do squats every day. It is a mental game as well. It is so much more than just working out. You know what I mean?”

14. Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair opened up about how she approaches her wrestling career in an interview with Muscle and Fitness. “It’s about being kind to yourself,” says Flair. “How you talk to yourself really matters. I never believed that I could be on TV, or be a performer, or any of those things … Why did I tell myself that for so many years? And now, here I am, the most decorated women’s champion of all-time. All of those things started to weigh heavy on me but now I don’t drink any alcohol. I’ve noticed an immense difference. My workouts and everything has totally changed.”

Professional wrestling star Trish Stratus is showing off the impressive fitness results of her intense training routine. Stratus, 48, shared a picture of herself posing in front of a mirror, pulling her workout top up to reveal enviable abdominal muscles. “Happy sABturday!” she captioned the post. Stratus has been competing for decades, and is also a certified fitness and yoga instructor—here’s how the star says fit, healthy, and ready to fight.

1. Devoted Yogi

Stratus first tried hot yoga after getting a herniated disc in her back. “I walked into my first class and it sounds cliché, but even after that first session I knew this was going to be something I would stick with,” she told The Globe and Mail. “I did it every single day for three months. I reversed the damage and was able to go back to my career. I kept up the yoga as well and all of a sudden all of the stress and the physical ailments that used to get to me were gone. My life was still crazy, but I was just so much more capable of dealing with it. I think taking that time every day to disconnect is so important for having perspective. It has made me a better and happier person, no question.”

2. Food Journal and Diary

Diary,Of,Food,Eaten,Throughout,The,Day,When,On,AShutterstock

Stratus keeps a food journal to track her diet, and uses it to log significant events as well. “It's not like I don't know what I need to eat to stay healthy and maintain myself, but for some reason there is value in taking the time to write it down,” she told The Globe and Mail. “I guess it brings a sense of awareness and mindfulness in terms of what you're putting into your body. I see it as a way of checking in with myself as much as controlling my diet. And these days I tend to write about things outside of what I'm eating. If something great happens, like my son Max walks, I'll write that in my food journal. For a while I tried to keep a diary. That never worked, so now I guess my food journal is sort of a diary.”

3. Fitness Instructor

Stratus teaches yoga, which she says is perfect for both men and women. “By adding the strength training element to the yoga, you really can get a full body workout because not only are you making your body more flexible, but you are toning and strengthening,” she told Today’s Bride. “It is great to finally answer the question I always get at my yoga studio, which is ‘is yoga even a workout’. Yes – it is! For guys, they can relate to this yoga workout because they recognize and can appreciate the results that can be obtained from the calisthenics included in the DVD, like pushups, squats, lunges, etc. What I see a lot of guys doing is using this system as a complement to their regular gym workouts or using a yoga session for an active rest day.”

4. Playing a Character

Stratus believes it’s very important for wrestlers to play characters authentic to their real personalities. “Pro wrestling is entertainment as much as anything else, so having the personality and being able to play this blown-up version of yourself is an important skill,” she told The Globe and Mail. “Sometimes the writers will create characters that are just totally different from the wrestlers themselves, but the best ones – the ones that have longevity and resonate most with the audience – are almost always when it's an amped-up version of the actual personality. Like Stone Cold Steve Austin – that is who he is. The Rock, if you meet him, that is the guy. It's way over the top, but it's him.”

5. She’s Still Got It

Stratus is proud of her achievements both in and out of the ring. “I’ve done stuff that I would’ve never imagined,” she told Vibe. “If 2006 Trish Stratus said ‘One day you’ll be in a ladder match. One day you’ll be in a cage match,’ [I’d be] like, ‘What? You’re crazy.’ So to be able to come back and do these unique opportunities, which, I think, [if] we look back, the foundation that [Lita] and I, Molly Holly, Jazz, Victoria, [doing] the stuff that we did, the intention was because one day we can do everything and contribute fully like the guys do.”

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

She’s Consistent

Last year, Culpo was preparing for her wedding. She told E! News that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness in order to prepare. “Really trying to dial in [on] what I eat, how I workout, the workouts that I do. Trying to get them in consistently because you only get married once and I want to feel my best. But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

She Keeps Her Skin Healthy While Traveling

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

She Uses Products With Vitamins

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

She Packs Healthy Snacks

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."

Abigail Ratchford’s amazing body has helped her become one of the most famous models on the internet. The 32-year-old, who boasts over 9.1 million followers on Instagram alone, attributes her measurement-defying body to a few simple habits. Here is everything she does to stay fit at 32.

She Follows 4 Diet Rules

Abigail swears that abiding by simple rules helps her stay in shape. “I can’t diet. That just doesn’t work for me,” she told New Beauty. “I started to be healthier by first cutting out soda. Then, I stopped eating after 7 p.m. Finally, I started really watching my portions so I was eating fewer calories every day. And water—lots and lots of water.”

She UsesMyFitnessPal

Abigail explains being accountable for what she eats is crucial. While it’s not “rocket science,” she does use the MyFitnessPal app to track her eating. “I’m the type of person who likes to eat what I want. The app can help anyone do that—you can still eat great food, you just eat less of it,” she added New Beauty.

Pilates

Abigail is a fan of Pilates. “Group workout classes are so big right now, but I always get nervous around other people in settings like that. I have to go at my own pace without a bunch of distractions so, for me, Pilates with a one-on-one instructor works best. It’s not cheap, but then you also aren’t tempted to skip,” she said She added to Men’s Fitness via Muscle & Fitness that the workout “keeps you long and lean” — and the Mayo Clinic agrees. They say it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Balanced Diet

“I love green juices and smoothies. Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Strength Training

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. I’ve been listening to my girlfriends who are in great shape and they say you have to do weight training, you have to go in and do squats. That’s my new thing—I’ve been doing some resistance training, circuit training,” she told Men’s Fitness. The Mayo Clinic explains that strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

Develop strong bones

Manage your weight

Enhance your quality of life

Manage chronic conditions

Sharpen your thinking skills
