No Fad Diets

Pooth is no longer interested in trying short-term fad diets, instead focusing on long-term healthy habits. "Like every woman, I have tested a lot," she says. "But never for more than a day. For example, with the cabbage soup diet, I wouldn't have been able to see the cabbage soup by dinner time at the latest. Such crash diets are also really dangerous. The yo-yo effect is pre-programmed. So I decided to change my diet. It's just more sustainable, as you can see with me. I've been maintaining my weight of 59 kilos [130 pounds] at a height of 1.78 [5 feet 8 inches] for half a year."

Lots of Yoga

Pooth is a devoted yogi, which research shows has both physical and mental health benefits. "A number of small studies have found that yoga can help with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)," say the experts at Harvard Health. "It is not used by itself, but as an add-on treatment to help reduce intrusive memories and emotional arousal and to produce calmer, steadier breathing."

She Works Out Twice a Week

Pooth genuinely enjoys exercise and staying active. "I love to move," she says. "Especially the feeling of happiness after a good workout is great. Then you are somehow proud of yourself that you have done something good for your body. Admittedly, if I had to do three hours of sport every day, my motivation might look a little different. But I stick to the diet and fitness concept: I exercise at least twice a week for 20 minutes. I was surprised at the success myself, but as you can see it works."

Personal Trainer Sessions

Pooth works out with personal trainer Steven Wilson to get her strongest and leanest physique.  "For a firm bottom and a slim body, 2 x 20 minutes of targeted exercise per week is enough to get in shape step-by-step," Wilson says. "That's it. This is how I train Verona – and the result speaks for itself."

5

No Food Restrictions

Pooth created her own diet program to help others reset to healthy habits. "We don't go hungry," she says. "This is certainly a very important point. You can eat as much as you want. That has to do with the nutritional concept and the great recipes that you cook together with TV chef Alexander Hermann and me. We rely on foods such as fish, meat and of course lots of vegetables. And the great thing is that we have also included a 'gourmet day' in this program. This is one day of the week when you can also indulge your cravings. You can eat a burger, enjoy chocolate or even drink a milkshake."
