Vicki Gunvalson is getting a head start to her birthday week. The Real Housewives of Orange County star is turning 60 this week and is kicking off the celebrations by showing off her fantastic figure in a Versace swimsuit. “Birthday week starting,” she captioned a photo shared to her Instagram stories. How does “the OG of the OC” keep herself in shape? Read on to see 5 ways Vicki Gunvalson stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She’s Tried the Whole 30 Diet

vicki-gunlavson-1Vicki Gunlavson/Instagram

Vicki has dabbled in the Whole 30 Diet, which eliminates alcohol, sugar, dairy, additives, and more for a month. "I have heard so many good things about the Whole 30 Diet," said Vicki in an Instagram video. "So, I'm starting tonight. My first thing is gonna be this coconut-pumpkin breakfast bake."

2. She Gained a Lot of Weight From Her 40s to 50s

Phobia Relief DaySylvain Gaboury/Getty Images

Vicki made a decision in her 2016 s to get back in shape after splitting from boyfriend Brooks Ayers. “You know what, I was at such a depressed state,” Gunvalson told ET. “I’m 54 now, and your metabolism changes. I put on, like, 10 lbs. from my 40s to my 50s, and I never felt strong.”

3. She Doesn’t Work Out

Premiere Party For Bravo's "The Real Housewives Of Orange County" 10 Year Celebration - ArrivalsJB Lacroix/WireImage

Vicki doesn’t like to break a sweat. “I don’t want to be a bodybuilder,” she told ET. “I don’t want to do all that stuff, but I wanted to feel like, OK, I’m gonna be single now. I gotta look my best, right?”

4. She Tried Calorie Counting

A,Cup,Of,Hot,Lemon,TeaShutterstock

Vicki told ET that she lost 22 lbs. in three months by consuming just 500 calories a day. She focused her diet mostly around raw foods and skipped lunch in lieu of liquids. “I cut out all alcohol. 500 calories a day,” she revealed. “And no carbs, so I just did lettuce and grapefruit in the morning. Some celery, carrots. Whatever it could be, just very raw. And then nothing really for lunch. I would just do water, lemon water. Hot lemon water. And then at night, I would just have salad and protein, and it worked!” One problem: "If you lose weight by crash dieting or by drastically restricting yourself to 400 to 800 calories a day, you're more likely to regain weight quickly, often within six months after you stop dieting," says the Mayo Clinic. "Exercise can help you maintain your weight loss. Studies show that people who lose weight and keep it off over the long term get regular physical activity."

5. She Dabbles in Keto

After Vicki’s daughter Briana lost a ton of weight on keto, the Real Housewives star gave it a try. “Thanks Briana and @ketoculbersons for helping me decide what to make for dinner. Can’t wait to try it. I love you. #keto #healthyeating #mydaughter #myinspiration,” she captioned this image of a keto dinner. "The ketogenic — or keto — diet emphasizes high-fat foods and severely restricts carbohydrates. In fact, about 60% to 80% of calories should come from fat, according to Jason Ewoldt, RDN, LD, a wellness dietitian at Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program (HLP). He notes that a true keto diet also includes only moderate amounts of protein, and less than 50 grams of carbohydrates a day," says the Mayo Clinic.

Vick Hope is one of the UK’s most well-known TV and radio personalities. She is a personality on BBC Radio 1. She has her own show on ITV. And she has appeared on Strictly Come Dancing. 1. She Reflected

Hello! Inspiration Awards - VIP ArrivalsDave Benett/Getty Images

Hope opened up about the effect the pandemic had on her in an interview with Evening Standard. She says that she used the time to do a lot of reflection. “When you can’t go outside, you’re forced to look inwards instead, and I’ve found we’ve all been very reflective, unpacking the effects of the past year while working out the ways we can move forward with what we’ve learned about the world and about ourselves. My priorities have certainly shifted.”

2. She Makes Time For Herself

The UK Launch Dinner Of PATTERN Beauty, Hosted By Founder/CEO Tracee Ellis RossDave Benett/Getty Images

Hope has a busy career, but she always makes time for herself. She tells Evening Standard that her secret is prioritizing herself. “I work weekends, and then find that during the week you feel guilty for taking time to chill out because no-one else is doing it, especially while we’re all working from home and our boundaries between work, rest and play are so blurred. It’s less ‘working from home’, more ‘living at work’ right now and that ain’t healthy. So I stick an hour or so a day in my diary that has to be put aside for a walk, or to read without my phone or laptop nearby, or decide on a time by which to wrap and ensure that as soon as the clock strikes I properly switch off and draw a line under the day with a bath, glass of wine or some telly.”

3. She’s True To Herself

ITV Palooza 2022 – ArrivalsKarwai Tang/Getty Images

Hope says that she is true to herself and that this has helped with her career. “My advice is to work out what you believe in, what you stand for, and what makes you unique and be proud of that, work with that,” she tells Evening Standard. “I spent a long time dampening down parts of my character, education and emotions because I didn’t think it fitted the mould of a youth TV and radio presenter, when in fact harnessing my weirdness, nerdiness and sensitivity is what makes me able to bring lightness to difficult subjects, something so crucial for Life Hacks on Radio 1, the show that feels so comfortable its like I’ve found a home.”

4. She Dances

vick-hope-2Vick Hope/Instagram

Hope loves to dance as a way of staying in shape, and as a way of staying well. She tells Grazia, “Even if it's just putting on a great playlist (I strongly suggest sticking Lizzo and Beyonce on for optimal feel-good factor) and having a good old dance around your house, it gets you moving and gets the endorphins going. There are some brilliant dance workout videos online too, which are free for you to watch on YouTube and you can follow at home, so even though we're not going out at the moment, you can have a party in your living room!

5. She Uses Face Masks

vick-hopeVick Hope/Instagram

Hope says that she likes to use face masks to keep her skin looking good. She tells Grazia that her favorite is, “REN's Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask, £32, which seems to do the trick no matter what state my skin is in. It calms redness during breakouts, but also soothes dryness and just gives an all round plumping glow. It's like a hug in a face mask!”

Roselyn Sánchez turned 49 yesterday, and she celebrated in Puerto Rico, her own personal fantasy island. “🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷” she captioned a photo of herself looking ageless in a swimsuit. “Best birthday ever…Gracias Dios, gracias a mis ángeles, gracias a la vida…Feliz cumple to me 😉,” she captioned another photo of herself in beachwear, with husband and fellow actor Eric Winter. Read on to see 5 ways Roselyn Sánchez stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Avoid Salty Foods Before Certain Shoots

Roselyn has said salted food “swells you” so she avoids it before certain shoots. “If you're like most people in the U.S., you're getting far more sodium than is recommended. And that could lead to serious health problems. Consider that 1 teaspoon of table salt, which is a combination of sodium and chloride, has 2,325 milligrams (mg) of sodium. That's slightly more than the daily limit of 2,300 mg recommended by health experts,” says the Mayo Clinic. “Eat more fresh foods. Most fresh fruits and vegetables are naturally low in sodium.”

2. She Lives Cleanly

“I changed my eating habits completely,” she told Eva Longoria in Hola. “I don't smoke. I don't drink and I've never done it.” As a woman nearing 50, “I'm still in this business. People have a perception, a view, of how you need to look. And it's a lot of pressure. I became a mother so late in life, you know, I had Sebella at 38, Dylan at 44. I want to be as healthy as possible for as long as possible.”

3. She is Motivated to Exercise

The 22nd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards - Backstage and AudienceRodrigo Varela/Getty Images

“I stay fit with exercise and take care of my health. This has always come naturally to me and it’s been part of my life without even thinking about it, but now I feel that it’s become a duty. Now it’s not about exercising because I like it, I tell myself, ‘Roselyn, you do this because when your boy turns 30 and gets married, you have to be there,’” she told Hola. “Are you hoping to lose weight? Boost your energy? Sleep better? Manage a chronic condition? Write down your goals. Seeing the benefits of regular exercise and writing your goals down on paper may help you stay motivated,” says the Mayo Clinic.

4. She Uses Keratin in Her Hair

“My hair is naturally very curly,” she told Page Six, which asked how she kept her hair so straight and shiny during a New Year’s Eve Broadcast. “So this is all keratin and a good blow dry from my hair guy. I always say I have very talented hair: I can have it straight, I can have it curly, I can have it all.” She was broadcasting from Puerto Rico. “I’m so lucky and so blessed,” Sanchez said of her historic gig. “I love my island; people [here] have known me working on TV since I was 19 years old … they follow my career and they support it. So I’m not going to do them wrong.”

5. She’s Doing it For Her Kids

22nd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards - ArrivalsArturo Holmes/Getty Images

Roselyn’s life is “a constant negotiation when it comes to the family and the husband,” who also works as an actor, she told Longoria in Hola. “This is like my second stage, the second stage of my life and my career, I have my career pre-kids and now is post. And it has given me even more desire to work. It's weird because I do get that mommy guilt, like Ella has a special function at school and I'm not available because I'm working on set. Am I making a mistake? I talk to her a lot. And I say, I do this for you. I wanna give you the best education possible. I try to talk to her every single week. So she understands."

1. She Eats Healthy

“Pre baby, I wasn’t on a strict schedule. Now I’m on Summer’s schedule, which has forced me to get into a healthier routine with my eating habits, workouts and overall health,” she said, according to Star. “The majority of the week, Brock and I like to cook a healthy lunch at home. Whether we make chicken or salmon, we always make sure to have a green side and a healthy carb or two.” She added about her daughter: “Now that Summer is eating solids, our favorite thing to share is sweet potatoes.”

2. She Carb Cycled

"That is the one thing I do every meal," she has said. “The daily four-to-six cup rule is for generally healthy people,” says Harvard Health. “But even a healthy person's water needs will vary, especially if you're losing water through sweat because you're exercising, or because you're outside on a hot day. If you're wondering how much water you should drink on those occasions, speak with your doctor, but a general rule of thumb for healthy people is to drink two to three cups of water per hour, or more if you're sweating heavily.”

4. She Does Total Body Workouts

Do strength training and aerobic workouts to work the full body, including the core. “Aerobic or ‘with oxygen’ exercises provide cardiovascular conditioning. The American Heart Association recommends a minimum of 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise 5 to 7 days per week. Don't forget warm-up, cool-down and stretching exercises in your aerobic exercise session,” says the Cleveland Clinic.

5. She May be in Mexico for Wedding Planning

The Vanderpump Rules bride-to-be is planning a wedding to Brock Davies. “We’re going down to Mexico in a couple of weeks to look at some venues down there. We were gonna do Bali, but their quarantine laws just keep getting extended, and it’s just not gonna work out, so we’re gonna go look in Mexico,” Scheana said, according to Bravo. “We have four venues we’re looking at. We’re gonna see if one of those is gonna be the right fit. And hopefully [the wedding will be at the] end of August. That is the plan.”

Like, why is this happening?’ And I did feel like it was a growing experience. Like, I'm never going to talk [badly] about people.”

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Pilates

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

She’s Consistent

Last year, Culpo was preparing for her wedding. She told E! News that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness in order to prepare. “Really trying to dial in [on] what I eat, how I workout, the workouts that I do. Trying to get them in consistently because you only get married once and I want to feel my best. But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

She Keeps Her Skin Healthy While Traveling

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

She Uses Products With Vitamins

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

She Packs Healthy Snacks

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."

Abigail explains being accountable for what she eats is crucial. While it’s not “rocket science,” she does use the MyFitnessPal app to track her eating. “I’m the type of person who likes to eat what I want. The app can help anyone do that—you can still eat great food, you just eat less of it,” she added New Beauty.

Pilates

Abigail is a fan of Pilates. “Group workout classes are so big right now, but I always get nervous around other people in settings like that. I have to go at my own pace without a bunch of distractions so, for me, Pilates with a one-on-one instructor works best. It’s not cheap, but then you also aren’t tempted to skip,” she said She added to Men’s Fitness via Muscle & Fitness that the workout “keeps you long and lean” — and the Mayo Clinic agrees. They say it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

“I love green juices and smoothies. Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Strength Training

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. I’ve been listening to my girlfriends who are in great shape and they say you have to do weight training, you have to go in and do squats. That’s my new thing—I’ve been doing some resistance training, circuit training,” she told Men’s Fitness. The Mayo Clinic explains that strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

Develop strong bones

Manage your weight

Enhance your quality of life

Manage chronic conditions

Sharpen your thinking skills
