She Doesn't Diet

Wilson is open about her previous struggles with her body image, eating, and eating disorders. She tells Strong Fitness Magazine that she has decided to not diet to keep herself in a better state. "Even when I was wrestling all those years, I still wasn't happy with how I looked. I was constantly dieting to look good for a photo shoot, or trying the latest fad diet. I yo-yo'd for many years. Since I quit diets altogether, started eating things in moderation, and focused on lifting weights, I've been leaner and happier."

Wilson tells Strong Fitness that working out is a great way of helping her mental state. She says that she always makes sure to do a quick amount of movement each day. "I've realized that it's the days when my motivation is lowest that I need it the most for my head. On those days, I negotiate with myself to just move for 20 minutes, doing anything, while listening to great music. Ninety percent of the time, that 20 minutes gets me feeling better and I'll end up doing more. That game plan on low motivation days keeps me from ever feeling like working out is a chore, and I always appreciate how I feel from it."

Wilson tells Strong Fitness that she loves keto drinks. "I also swear by these ketone drinks by Pruvit. They put your body into ketosis within an hour of drinking and the cognitive benefits are amazing. Better mental focus, clarity, energy, and less sugar cravings."

Wilson says to Muscle and Health that she likes to practice the 80/20 rule when it comes to eating. She says that she eats pretty healthy most of the time. "I go for the 80% rule of healthy. I'm now more focused on eating whole, natural foods that have a lot of nutrients to help me feel good from the inside out. I'm anti-strict eating because of competing and being anorexic."

She Takes It Easy

While exercise is important to Wilson, so is recovery. She tells Muscle and Health that she takes rest days and doesn't push herself too hard with some workouts. "Since I've had back surgery, I just try to not kill myself. I refuse to let it slow me down. I know if I'm going to do something like weighted glute raises or deadlifts, it's going to hurt for a few days, but it also hurts when I don't do anything, so I choose which hurt I want."
