Yara stays up until 11pm on most nights, “but often find myself up at 3am – I’m trying to change that.,” she told Elle UK. When shooting Grown-ish, she wakes up at 4:30 to 5am. “If it’s up to me, then 8:30 or 9am feels fantastic.”

2. She Isn’t Big On Exercise

“Does walking to the airport whenever I travel count?” when asked by Popsugar about her exercise routine. She added to Elle that if she works out, there are a few she enjoys. “I love stationary cycling and do classes my mama puts together. I’m also a black belt in Tang Soo Do (a type of karate),” she said.

3. She Has a Holistic Approach to Wellness

The best beauty advice Yara ever received? “It’s always been to take care of myself. Beauty is holistic for us, so rather than being like, 'How do I deal with acne?’ it’s, ‘What is my body telling me?’” she told Elle.

4. She Is “Obsessed” with Kale

Yara’s favorite food might surprise you: Kale. “I'm kind of kale obsessed. Whenever I don't know what to eat I will just make some brown rice and just steam or saute some kale,” she told Popsugar.

5. Her Morning Routine Helps Keep Her Balance

Balance is a priority for Yara. "It starts with the simple things,” she told Glamour. “I love my morning time routine, and not just because I love the way it makes me look. It's the first moment in the day in which I'm starting by taking time for myself... No matter how busy it's been, I'm spending time with myself winding down."

6. She Eats Healthy Snacks

Yara’s go-to snacks? “Apples, peanut butter, and chocolate chips has been me and mommy's favorite snack forever. My middle brother is allergic to all nuts, so now that I am safely not in a space with him I can eat that guilt-free and feel confident that he is still safe and protected,” she told Glamour. “I also love Yerba Mate, because it looks like a healthy energy drink. I know that it probably isn't, but I do not feel bad when I drink it for a little extra energy kick. I'm also big on lots of fruit, lots of nectarines. I'm a big bell pepper person. I can down a full orange bell pepper with a little lime and salt.”
