Sofia Vergara In Workout Gear Uses "Torture" Resistance Bands

“Mornings with the Torturer."

Sofia Vergara is 51 and still works as hard as ever to stay fit and focused on her health. The Modern Family star shared a video of herself wearing red workout gear, doing resistance band exercises on a mat at the gym. Pink dumbbells were also placed nearby on a bench. "Mornings with the torturer🤬," she humorously captioned the post. The actress never skips a workout, even on vacation—here's what her health, diet, and wellness routine looks like.

Pilates Five Times a Week

Vergara works out with trainer Jennifer Yates, founder of Studio Metamorphosis, using a Pilates Megaformer machine. "We work out at least five times a week for 50 minutes to an hour, depending on her schedule," Yates told People. "She's dedicated! She loves working the butt. We do a lot of squats and deadlifts and lunges [on the machine], and we do a lot of things off the machine as well. Recently we've been combining some of the heavier weights for the lower body because she's trying to put a little more mass on, so we've been doing a lot of work with kettlebells. She's really strong!"

Colombian Roast

Vergara loves a cup of strong coffee to start the day with good energy.  "Who doesn't love starting the day with a delicious Colombian roast?" she told People en Español. Sure, it's tasty, but it has so many benefits, too! It'll wake you up and get you energized for your workout, and it's been proven that drinking coffee (caffeinated, of course) helps your body burn more fat during exercise. Every little bit helps, right?"

Dance Cardio Classes

Vergara recommends finding a form of cardio that is actually fun. "Dance cardio classes are my current obsession, because there's nothing better than turning up the music and just letting everything go," she told People en Español. "But really, making cardio easier to knock out is more about finding something you really love. Whether it's surfing, biking, or jumping on trampolines, do something you enjoy."

Makeup Therapy

Vergara does her own makeup for Modern Family. "It was like therapy," she told Hola!. "I would go there at 5 am, start my makeup, I'd do it faster than anybody, and it was really fun."

Resistance Bands Workouts

Vergara works out even on vacation, her trainer reveals. "She'll take weights and resistance bands with her," Yates told People. Her advice? "Try to give yourself small goals. If you're new to working out, maybe start with two times a week and let your body rest in between."
