She Plays Tennis

Tennis is the main way Collins stays in shape. Lee Health states that the sport has a lot of benefits. “Paul Zavala, an occupational therapist at Lee Health, says tennis contributes to fitness, strength, agility, flexibility, reflexes, and overall health. Tennis helps you learn better footwork and balance since mobility is a key to properly hitting the ball. Tennis utilizes upper, core, and lower body muscles – but it’s also one of the best cardiovascular and aerobic exercises you can do. Playing a few sets increases oxygen flow, circulation, and helps you fight back heart disease. That kind of physical workout also decreases lipids, which helps lower cholesterol.”

She Cut Out Dairy and Gluten

Collins has rheumatoid arthritis. Because of this, she’s had to cut out gluten and dairy. "I started doing a more specific diet once I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis because there's things that can kind of trigger flare-ups," Collins said on the TENNIS.com Podcast. "So it was important that I was able to identify the things that would kind of cause me to have a reaction. I just had to make some lifestyle changes really, which are hard because I feel like everything that's good has dairy or gluten in it.”

She Hikes

One thing that Collins does to keep herself in shape is going for hikes. She shared this video on Instagram of herself on a hike by the lake. Collins captioned it, “August: The Sunday of Summer.” She also shared this reel of herself on a hike in Tasmania. Collins captioned that post, “Felt like I must have died and gone to heaven the last few days in Tasmania🇦🇺 Every nature lovers absolute dream 🥰🌄🌊🫐🍓🌹💐🦘🥾🏕️”

She Does Pilates

Another thing that Collins does to keep herself in shape is doing Pilates. She shared this reel of herself doing reformer exercises on Instagram. ACE Fitness states that Pilates has a lot of benefits. “Pilates can boost your overall fitness. A small study in people who were overweight or obese, published February 2019 in PeerJ, found that three one-hour Pilates sessions per week helped participants improve lean and fat mass, trunk endurance, and flexibility.”

She Spends Time Outdoors

Collins has a dog named Quincy, whom she prominently features on her Instagram. She shared this reel of herself and her pup re-enacting a Taylor Swift video with her cat. Collins captioned the post, “Re-enacting @taylorswift and Olivia’s most recent IG drop. How did Mr.Q and I do!?”

Daria Kasatkina is vacationing in the Maldives – in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the tennis star shows off her amazing body in an exercise set (and swimsuit!) while taking a much-needed break from tennis in the tropics. “Season 2024 is over, and it’s been great🙏🏽 Now living life in paradise🏝️ Loving this place,” she captioned the Instagram photos. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Tennis

Tennis is Daria’s main form of fitness. “The only thing I love about tennis is tennis itself. It's the game of tennis I like so much to play. You know, to hear the sound of the ball coming from the racquet, so like the sound of the ball touching the ground and you know this beautiful feeling of hitting the ball,” she told We Are Tennis.

Coffee

Daria is a coffee drinker. Here she is holding a cup while on vacation. According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Ice Skating

When she’s not on the court, you can find Daria ice skating. “Making sure she knows how to skate⛸️👻 @natalia_zabiiako 💜 #love,” she captioned a post from the rink. According to Harvard Medical School, ice skating will burn up to 200 calories per hour. It is also great for joint and muscle health and helps improve balance and coordination.

Stretching

Daria understands the importance of stretching before and after playing tennis or exercising. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Strength Training

Daria lifts weights to keep her body ready for the court. Here she is during a strength training session. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Here’s how she stays in top shape.

1. She Plays Tennis

Tennis is one of the ways that Azarenka stays in shape. The sport has a lot of health benefits. The Columbia Association states, “Tennis is an ace for stress relief too, which boosts your mood and keeps your heart healthy. And we can’t skimp over the warm and fuzzy traits it instills, like discipline, patience and teamwork, all in a healthy social outlet. A study done at Southern Connecticut State University even found that tennis players scored higher in vigor, optimism and self-esteem and lower in depression, anger, confusion, anxiety and tension than other athletes and non-athletes.”

2. She’s Disciplined

Azarenka talked about her training secrets in an interview with Elite Daily. She says that having the right mindset is important. Azarenka also says that she is very disciplined, and that has helped with her career. “I think it depends on what you want to achieve. If you want to be a champion, then I think something you have to really work at is work ethic [because] it is fundamental to bringing all the other aspects together.”

3. She Focuses On Injury Prevention

Being a professional athlete means that Azarenka has to be concerned about potential injuries. She tells Elite Daily that she did a lot of research to see what she can improve on. “For me it was a lot of educating myself to just understand, first of all, how the body works so I knew what to do. I'm constantly reading and learning injury prevention. Basically, injury prevention is discipline. It was also a lot about mindset, 'cause I hate doing it -- like, I absolutely hate stretching. But once I started to understand it a little bit more, it became fun for me.”

4. She Strength Trains

Azarenka shared some of her favorite workouts with Elite Daily. She says that strength training is a big part of her routine. “I do power exercises like medicine ball throws and I recently, like a year ago, started doing olympic weightlifting. because it's the most complex movement with the most explosiveness and power in it to help you extend faster and get to the first step faster.”

5. She Does A Variety Of Workouts

Azarenka shared some more of her favorite workouts with Elite Daily. She does a lot of different things to keep herself in shape. “I love dancing. I just went to a dance class in New York. It's called Ratchet Zumba. I knew about Zumba, but I didn't know about Ratchet Zumba... Making your body think and learn different movements always helps you with coordination and flexibility. I love playing basketball, I love swimming, I do paddle-boarding. I do a lot.”

We are committed to bringing you researched, expert-driven content to help you make more informed decisions around food, health, and wellness. We know how important making choices about your overall health is, and we strive to provide you with the best information possible.

Rachel Stuhlmann, known for her dynamic presence as a model and tennis influencer, brings her passion for wellness, sports, and fitness to every aspect of her life. In a recent Instagram post, she shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of creating her content, showcasing her dedication to the sport and the energy she brings to each shoot. “BTS filming of a tennis drill w the bestie😭💕🎾,” she captioned the video, giving fans a sneak peek into her content creation process. Whether she’s playing tennis, staying disciplined in her fitness routine, or sharing her wellness journey, Stuhlmann’s approach is all about intentionality and joy. Here’s a closer look at the habits that keep her active, healthy, and balanced.

1. She Plays Tennis

Tennis is one of the ways that Stuhlmann stays in shape. Better Health states that tennis has a lot of health benefits. “Playing tennis has many health benefits including: increasing aerobic capacities, lowering resting heart rate and blood pressure, improving metabolic function, increasing bone density, lowering body fat, improving muscle tone, strength and flexibility, increasing reaction times.”

2. She Plays Pickleball

Stuhlmann also plays pickleball to keep herself in shape. The Cleveland Clinic states that the sport has a lot of benefits. “Sports like pickleball stress your muscles and bones. Your body responds by making them stronger. Routine pickleball play can help you: Improve muscle strength. Prevent osteoporosis, a disease that weakens your bones and can lead to fractures.”

3. She Values Wellness

Stuhlmann opened up about her wellness journey in an interview with Fitness Gurls. “My whole life has been tennis; however, there was a short time right after college when I shifted much of my focus from the tennis world to fitness training. I think I was just so excited to be finished with only being able to do tennis-specific workouts and for the first time in my life, I had the freedom to do whatever workouts I wanted to! I began weight training, working out extremely hard, and focusing on my nutrition. I went all in; I did two strategic workouts a day and followed a weighed-out meal plan given to me by a nutritionist who helped me reach my goals.”

4. She’s Disciplined

Stuhlmann talked about the discipline that she gained from tennis in her Fitness Gurls interview. “I loved being an athlete, and playing college tennis taught me many qualities—time management, work ethic, and resilience. Committing to my studies was not as easy for me as developing my tennis career. Fortunately, I was provided with great tutors and mentors at Mizzou that helped me stay on top of my studies. Sometimes outsourcing and working as a team with other people is a good way to succeed. I was super disciplined with my training and workout routines, and once I finished playing in college, I transferred that into my professional career. Now instead of preparing and training for big tennis matches, I focus on everything I have going on in my professional life and how I can best show up for all the various work I do within the sport.”

5. She Plans Her Workouts

Stuhlmann likes to plan out her workouts ahead of time. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “I told you that this year I’m hitting these workouts hard, and with confidence!☺️🔥🧡💪With such a busy schedule, it’s important for me to have efficient and effective workouts & meal plans. Through years of experience (and trial & error🙂), I have figured out what works for me to stay fit and healthy!💯😌”

Mel Reid is playing golf – in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the athlete shows off her amazing body in an exercise set while on the course. “Our ambassadors Mel Reid and Cameron Champ are ready for the action this weekend at the second annual @grantthorntoninv. Don’t miss the two players and their two tours come together for the most equal event in the game,” the Instagram post shared by Grant Thornton is captioned. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Mental Health

Mental,Health,Bulb,Word,Cloud,,Health,ConceptShutterstock

“Honestly, mental health is huge,” Mel told Golf. “It’s huge in all walks of life and I feel that athletes sometimes get a bad rap for speaking about it because we are seen as ‘superhuman.’ And I think there are some people out there who don’t know what we go through to be one of the best at what we do. I think social media has a lot to answer for also. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Instagram and I really think there are some huge benefits from it, but I can certainly tell if I’m on it too much. I need to keep an eye on that,” she said. “Everyone should work on their mental health, though. It’s the foundation to everything. I’m really proud of the likes of Simone who is using her platform to speak about these issues that so many people can relate to. She has 100% of my support and I’ve been there and so I get it. And a side note: I’m also incredibly proud of the likes of Matt Wolf, too. It’s not an easy thing to do as people see it as a weakness. However I think the opposite: it’s strength beyond measure!!”

Snowboarding

When she isn’t golfing, you might find Mel on the mountains. “So I grew up basically playing every sport I could … skiing, tennis, hockey … but my main loves were snowboarding and football and still are when I’m not smacking a white ball around a field,” she told Golf. According to the University of Rochester, snowboarding, like skiing, is a great cardiovascular workout. “Because they are also weight-bearing exercises, they strengthen your bones as they tone your muscles,” they say. “Cardiovascular or aerobic exercises also work to reduce your risk for chronic diseases, and lower blood pressure. They also help you maintain a healthy body weight. Through regular aerobic exercise like skiing and snowboarding, you lower your risk of developing conditions like diabetes and heart disease, having a stroke, and perhaps even getting cancer.”

Running and Cycling

Mel uses cardio, “a 20-minute run or bike,” to deal with jet lag, she told Golf. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

Surfing And Paddle Boarding

Surf,Surfboard,On,The,Beach,At,SunsetShutterstock

Mel moved to Jacksonville, Florida and started getting into water sports.”The beauty of living in Jacksonville is paddle boarding or my new hobby of surfing. Surf wasn’t the best this week, though,” she said in the interview. According to the Australian government’s Better Health, surfing provides many health benefits including cardiovascular fitness from paddling, shoulder and back strength, which also strengthens from the paddling, and leg and core strength. “Once you’re standing up on the board, strong legs and a strong core will keep you up,” they say.

Here Is Her Workout

Mel revealed her workout to Golf, a density workout with side lunges, seated stretches, and basic calisthenics.

Medicine Ball Discus Throws x 10

Goblet / Kettle Bell squat x 10

One-leg Push-ups x 5 each leg

Lunge Resistance Rotations x 5 each side

1. She Plays Tennis

Kerber enjoys a lot of health benefits from tennis. The Columbia Association states, “Whatever your age or level of athleticism, tennis is an excellent full-body workout that releases feel-good endorphins to help you relax and relieve tension. Its low-impact nature also means your joints and bones will thank you. Because tennis includes short bursts of activity, it offers the same conditioning benefits of interval training, which has an unparalleled positive effect on the heart and lungs, slashing your risk of heart disease by 56% (!). Just an hour of play burns between 400 to 600 calories.”

2. She Runs

Kerber shares a lot of her workouts on Instagram. One thing she likes to do is go on runs. This helps her with running on a tennis court. She shared this photo on Instagram of herself going for a run. Valley Oaks states that running is a great workout. “Running has a wide variety of health benefits like improving blood pressure, building heart muscles, and strengthening bones. Beyond the physical benefits, running is also proven to positively impact your mental health.”

3. She Bikes

Another workout Kerber likes to do is going bike riding. She shared these photos on Instagram of herself riding in the woods and on the streets. Kerber captioned the post, “Mixing up my training routine with a bike ride in nature. In the beginning of my career, endurance training was a huge ‘dislike’ for me. And now these sessions are the ones I (almost) look most forward to. 😅”

4. She Hikes

Kerber spends a lot of time outside. One thing she likes to do is to go for hikes. She shared this photo on Instagram of herself hiking in the mountains. Kerber captioned the post, “Best summer days are spent in nature.” Piedmont states that hiking has a lot of benefits. “Going up and down hills gets the heart pumping, creating a great cardio workout. Like most cardio exercises, hiking helps reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even some cancers.”

5. She Combines Strength Training & Mobility

Kerber likes to combine workouts. She likes to strength train and do mobility workouts to stay in shape. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “Good morning 🧘‍♀️🥰 Obviously my training routine has changed quite a bit, but I continue with my mobility & strength workouts. I feel so much better with an active start to the day.”

Ana Zelu is a professional model and social media influencer. She is known for her content in nature. Zelu recently shared a post on Instagram of herself on a surfboard in the ocean. She captioned it, “Yesterday was such a fun shoot, I just had to share these with you 🤍 🛥️But picture number #4?? That photobomb totally got me 😂 Which picture is your favorite ?🌊”

She Swims

As you can see from her post, Zelu likes to swim. The Mayo Clinic states that swimming has a lot of benefits. “Swimming is often touted as a great workout for all ages, offering benefits not only for the body, but also for the mind. As a form of exercise, swimming keeps your heart rate up and builds muscle strength. It also can be a great form of stress relief.”

She Doesn't Compare Herself to Others

Zelu shares a lot of her thoughts on Instagram. In this post, she talked about no longer comparing herself to others. “Dear Diary 💭📝, Today’s contemplation led me to a profound understanding of the detrimental impact comparison has on our lives. It’s like a silent intruder, subtly creeping into our thoughts and poisoning our perception of ourselves and others. It’s a universal struggle, one that weighs heavily on the hearts of many. I’ve come to realize that comparison is the ultimate thief of joy. It robs us of our ability to appreciate our own journey and achievements, as we constantly measure ourselves against an idealized version of others. I’ve resolved to break free from its grasp. We should choose to celebrate our own unique path, recognizing that each step forward is a triumph in itself. Rather than fixating on external benchmarks set by others, I’m focusing on personal growth and development. Whether it’s through learning new skills, cultivating gratitude, or simply practicing self-compassion, every effort counts.”

She Hikes

Zelu is seen on a hike in the previous Instagram post. Harvard Health states that hiking is very beneficial. “Like brisk walking, hiking is a good way to improve your cardiovascular fitness, particularly if your route includes some hills, which will force your heart to work harder. Taking a hike on the slightly uneven surface of a trail also provides a natural way to engage the core muscles in your torso and to hone your balance skills.”

She’s Resilient

Resilience is another important thing to Zelu. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “Dear Diary 💭📝, I witnessed something truly remarkable that touched my heart deeply. It’s amazing how people can go through the toughest storms in life and yet remain gentle, patient, and kind. I saw someone who faced challenges that would break most people, yet they chose to respond with grace and humility. Their ability to stay calm and compassionate in the face of adversity is nothing short of admirable. It made me realize the beauty of resilience – the strength to keep going even when life throws its hardest punches. These individuals not only endure the storms but also emerge from them with a spirit that shines brighter than before. Their example reminds me of the power of kindness and the importance of staying true to oneself, even in the darkest of times. It’s a reminder that even in the midst of chaos, there is beauty to be found 💕🫶”

She’s Accepted Herself

Zelu talked about the importance of acceptance in this Instagram post’s caption. “Dear Diary 💭📝, Today has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but amidst it all, I feel like I’ve taken a step closer to the right direction. Letting go of the past is like shedding a heavy coat I’ve been carrying for far too long. It’s not easy to release the memories, the pain, the regrets, but today, I made a choice to loosen the grip they had on me. It’s like taking a deep breath after being underwater for too long—refreshing and liberating. Forgiving myself has been a journey filled with tears and moments of self-doubt. But today, I finally understood that I deserve the same forgiveness and understanding I give to others. It’s like giving myself a warm hug, wrapping myself in kindness and acceptance.”
