Real talk: 4.4 billion pounds of pasta are produced in the U.S. every year. You read that right! Furthermore, Americans eat 5.95 billion pounds of the quintessential Italian cuisine annually, according to Share the Pasta. We're not sure that anyone will ever be ready to give up this particular carb anytime soon. But do you even have to?

Many people believe that in order to develop a six-pack, they have to give up or limit their carbs. However, celebrities like Kate Hudson, Lea Michele, and the Kardashians are all huge pasta fans, and they all have amazing abs. Everything works in moderation, and savoring your all-time favorite pasta can, too, if you have a well-rounded lifestyle complete with exercise. Here are celebrity tips for staying in shape while still enjoying carbs.

1. Lea Michele

Glee star Lea Michele shared a photo on Twitter of herself enjoying a delicious-looking plate of spaghetti while at the Giffoni Film Festival, per Us Weekly. One way she maintains her abs despite the spaghetti? Hiking.

Lea revealed she and her husband like going on hikes. "He's a great workout buddy. We have so many trails here on the West Coast so I love being outdoors and getting in a workout outside," she said.

The actress also enjoys SoulCycle and CorePower Yoga. "I like any workout that not only is taking care of my body from a physical aspect but is also mentally [beneficial] as well," Lea noted.

2. Paris Hilton

Who else is a huge pasta fan? Paris Hilton notably prepared her favorite lasagna recipe on her cooking show, Cooking With Paris. 

In order to build her amazing abs, the celeb turns to a couple of devices, since she doesn't always have time to hit the gym. "I'm so busy I don't have time to work out so I use my Balancer Pro Lymphatic Suit and Cryotherapy chamber," she told Vogue, adding, "I do love skiing and surfing when on vacation."

3. Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson knows how to whip up a mean meatless lasagna, complete with mushrooms, butternut squash, and onions. (Yum!)

Beyond flexing her chef skills on Instagram, the Running Point star is a true fitness icon. In order to maintain her impressive physique, Kate told PEOPLE that she's all about setting goals.

"I'm definitely challenging myself in new ways, which I need," she told the outlet. "I like to be able to set new goals to see what I can accomplish, and I love how flexible and strong I feel after a good workout, especially doing Pilates, which never gets easier."

4. Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara is another pasta fan. In fact, she celebrated one of her birthdays with a patio party, featuring a decadent pasta dish with shaved truffles.

How does the celeb stay ultra-fit? She shared some of her favorite workouts in an interview with Glamour.

"My go-to workout is a Pilates workout on the Lagree Fitness Megaformer machine," Sofia said. "I also mix in spinning classes for cardio a couple of times per week."

5. Lisa Rinna

While promoting The Celebrity Apprentice, Lisa Rinna enjoyed a tasty bowl of spaghetti and meatballs at Buca di Beppo. She told Us Weekly that yoga is one of the secrets behind her amazing figure.

"Yoga has been my life savior for 26 years I've been practicing now," Lisa shared. "It's my consistent … you know, I do many workouts and I go through lots of different things, but I think most consistently practicing yoga has been the most helpful in keeping myself grounded and somewhat space … somewhat…"

6. Julianne Hough

While she enjoys the occasional plate of pasta, Julianne Hough told PEOPLE that her diet is all about getting enough protein—especially for breakfast.

"My favorite dish is an egg-white omelet or a scramble with veggies like asparagus, mushrooms, spinach, and kale. Protein helps me begin my day in a healthy way. It carries me all the way through," she said.

7. Chrissy Teigen

Breakfast in bed is a thing, and so is spaghetti. Chrissy Teigen shared this relatable photo on Instagram of herself loving every bite in her hotel bed.

She revealed to TODAY.com that Pilates is her favorite way to stay in shape. "We have a standing appointment in Los Angeles, so I go with all my girlfriends in the morning. I love Pilates because I feel long, I feel like I can really target the muscles that I need," Chrissy shared.

8. Cameron Diaz

Have you heard of a "pasta diet?" Cameron Diaz followed one!

In a 2020 Instagram live, Cameron shared, "I'm eating [pasta] like, every night … I was just on a pasta diet. I was like, 'What should we have tonight, darling? Should we have more pasta?'"

However, Cameron doesn't just eat pasta. She talked about being a mindful eater in her book, aptly titled The Body Book, as reported by Vogue.

"As I get older, I realized I was working a little bit harder at digesting what I was eating, and I thought it is not fair to my body to keep doing this," the actress wrote. "If you are giving it a bunch of crap all the time, it will break down quicker and deteriorate quicker, so I stopped."

9. Kim Kardashian

A plate of fettuccine is another phrase for a plate of heaven. Kim Kardashian shared an Instagram photo of herself enjoying just that. Naturally, her impressive figure was on display in the post, which she captioned, "nudels."

Kim works with trainer, Senada Greca, to stay fit. Senada talked about working with Kim on an episode of Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast, as reported by TODAY.com. Senada shared, "One thing that I've learned about Kim with training with her, it's her dedication. She shows up on time, and is ready to go."
