She Has Done the Atkins Program
When it comes to food, Milano uses the popular Atkins program. She's even done commercials for Atkins. "I like to think of it more as a lifestyle because if I think of it as a diet, then I feel like I'm dieting and that's no fun," Milano said on FOX 11 Los Angeles. "I've found that Atkins has the greatest tools, whether it'd be their app or their products."
She Avoids Sugar
As part of her Atkins program, Milano says that she avoids sugar. "When I cut out the sugar, which is a lot of what Atkins is about, my cravings went away," she says to PEOPLE. "I just give myself a treat and know it's not horrible for me."
She Grows Her Ingredients
Milano tells PEOPLE that she has her own garden, and uses the ingredients she grows in her family's meals. "My mint is out of control right now, so I basically put it in everything," Milano uses as an example. "It doesn't matter what it is, it's getting mint in it."
She Makes Healthy Meals
Milano says that she likes to make healthy meals for herself and her family. This even included using the grill during warmer days. "I love to grill chicken or fish," she said to PEOPLE. "I love grilled vegetables because I think it gives it a little bit of a smoky flavor, and you do some olive oil with salt and pepper and it's just delicious."
