Ditch Animal Products
Andrea proudly promotes a plant-based lifestyle, identifying as a vegan. "For many Americans, meals center around the meat. After all the Department of Agriculture reports that 222 pounds of meat are sold per person per year in the U.S.," reports the Mayo Clinic. "But when researchers asked nearly 70,000 volunteers about their diets, then tracked them over time, they found lower cancer rates among people who didn't eat meat at all."
Fight Your Way to a Hot Body
Andrea is a boxer. "I love starting my days like this," she captioned a clip of herself getting into fighting form. "This kind of boxing has many health benefits, because it constantly requires you to think, change your position, and change your posture," physical therapist Linda Arslanian, director of rehabilitation services at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women's hospital tells Harvard Health."You're swinging your arms, moving the muscles of your arms and shoulders, increasing your upper-body strength. And when you're in the boxer crouch with a wide stance, with your knees slightly bent, you're strengthening your core muscles, back, and legs."
Andrea makes it a priority to promote body positivity. At Miss Universe 2020 she urged the world to end society's beauty standards. "We live in a society that more and more is more than advanced, and as we advance as a society, we've also advanced with stereotypes," she said. "Nowadays beauty isn't only the way we look. For me, beauty radiates not only in our spirit, but in our hearts and the way that we conduct ourselves. Never permit someone to tell you that you're not valuable."
Andrea is incredibly fit and strong. One of her go-to exercises? Planking. She claims that she can hold a plank for a whopping three minutes.
Take a Hike
Andrea loves hiking. "Peace, fresh air and adventure. One of my favorite hobbies is to explore the great outdoors. I believe keeping a connection with Mother Nature gives us inner peace, strength and positivity," she wrote in a recent post. Yesterday I went for a 12k hike at this beautiful place, La Barranca de Huentitán."
