She Believes In Inner Confidence
One of Tisdale's biggest wellness secrets is having confidence in herself. She says that she feels better and more beautiful when she's confident. "For me, it's all about feeling good," she tells People. "I have a makeup line, Illuminate by Ashley Tisdale, and yes it's easy to put makeup on and go out, but true confidence comes from within."
She Treats Her Diet Like Her Skin
Tisdale tells People that her wellness secrets are the same as her beauty secrets. "Treat your body how you treat your skin and you will always feel good," she explained. Tisdale says that her biggest tips are, "Drinking plenty of water and sleep." "These two environmental factors can impact your quality and quantity of sleep. Darkness causes your brain to release melatonin for a calming, sleepy effect. As a result, it's important to minimize your exposure to light before bedtime. Even the light from your computer, TV or other devices might make it more difficult for you to fall asleep. Ban these devices from your bedroom, and create a dark space by using blackout shades or an eye mask. Noise also can interfere with your ability to sleep. Try using a fan or a noise machine to block out unwanted noises," says the Mayo Clinic.
She Found Out Her Food Sensitivities
Tisdale told People that she decided to get tested for certain food sensitivities. She says that she then made a lot of changes to her diet afterwards. "I recently found out what my food sensitivities are, so I had to cut dairy out and certain other foods that weren't good for me," she explains. "Also, as much as I love carbs I cut them down a lot. I allow myself to have them once a week."
She Walks A Lot
After having her first child, Tisdale revealed on her Instagram stories that she has started walking a lot more. She says that this helps manage her stress, and to lose weight. "It's all about moving, finding ways of walking," she writes. "Taking the dogs out with the baby for a stroll, taking meeting while walking versus sitting. It's honestly what has helped my mental health as well. Having the extra energy from anxiety, just taking a walk and putting on a walking meditation always makes me feel better."
She Keeps Her Heart Rate Low
Tisdale works with celebrity trainer, Harley Pasternak, to help herself stay in shape. Pasternak told Shape Magazine that he aims to keep Tisdale's heart rate low during sessions. "Because the heart rate doesn't get too high, there is a lower rate of perceived exertion," he explains. "In other words, the workout doesn't feel too hard, even though it's getting everything done we need to get done. We can even carry on a conversation the whole time while her butt and hips and arms get totally demolished — in a good way."
