Varelis holds off on food until mid-morning. “Every day begins with an almond latte and I start eating meals at about 11am, which is usually an apple and berry cinnamon yogurt bowl, topped with muesli,” she says. “For lunch, I tend to make a salad such as a tofu Buddha bowl with a tamari peanut sauce made from natural peanut butter.”
2. Mango and Chocolate

Varelis enjoys dried mango or dark chocolate for a snack. Dark chocolate is a good choice for a healthy snack, if it’s enjoyed sparingly. “There are some benefits to dark chocolate in terms of antioxidants, like the flavanols,” says Devon Peart, MHSc, BASc, RD. “But they’re not compelling enough that we would say you should definitely include this in your diet. Pound for pound, it’s a high-calorie food. It’s definitely something to enjoy in moderation.”
3. Pasta For Dinner

Varelis enjoys healthy pasta dishes for dinner. “Dinner is simple, something like a pesto green-pea-pasta,” she says. “I also load up pretty much every dish with hemp, chia and flax seeds, and have about 2L of water a day.”
4. Walking and Pilates

Varelis makes a point of being active every day, even if it’s something as simple as a walk. “I walk every day for at least 30 minutes and mix my workouts between the Keep It Cleaner App and Reformer Pilates Reformer,” she says. “Pilates is by far my favorite way to exercise… I am in the process of booking a little yoga retreat but I’ve never really done anything extreme.”
5. Marine Collagen

Varelis is passionate about her wellness rituals. “Infrared saunas have so many health benefits, and work wonders for the soul and your overall health,” she says. “I also take marine collagen daily and have seen a massive improvement in my hair and nails since doing so.”
