She Takes Care Of Her Mental Health

Delevingne tells Self that she suffers from depression. "I hated myself for being depressed, I hated feeling depressed, I hated feeling," she said. "I was very good at disassociating from emotion completely. And all the time I was second-guessing myself, saying something and then hating myself for saying it." However, Delevingne received help and says she has a healthy way of managing her depression right now. "When someone gets too close, I get scared: 'Oh, you can't handle it, I'm too crazy,'" she said."I know it sounds really stupid, but I relied too much on love, too much on other people to make me happy, and I needed to learn to be happy by myself."

She Makes Sure Her Life Is Balanced & Puts Herself First

In 2015, Delevingne wrote an essay on self-acceptance and the pressure of living in the public eye for Motto. In it, she writes about the struggles of working in the fashion industry, and why she stepped away from it. "I felt like I needed validation from everyone," she writes."Over time, I came to realize that work and getting others' approval isn't the most important thing." Delevingne writes that she started doing projects that she loved, and started putting herself first, which led to her being happier with herself. "When you have balance in your life, work becomes an entirely different experience," she writes. "There is a passion that moves you to a whole new level of fulfillment and gratitude and that's when you can do your best…for yourself and for others. After all, no matter how many people like you and your work, it doesn't matter if you don't like yourself."

Delevingne has been open about being sex-positive and promoting the normalization of sex topics. She recently revealed that she has invested in the sex-tech startup, Lora DiCarlo. When asked by Yahoo! Finance about her decision, Delevingne answered, "I didn't invest in Lora DiCarlo because it was a startup; it was because the company was the only women-led and femme-focused brand in the sex tech space that is really pushing the conversation around sexual wellness for everyone. They continue to lead the conversation surrounding sexual wellness, sexual empowerment, and the destigmatization of self-pleasure."
