Carmen Electra, the model and TV host, has been a pop culture icon for years. And she still looks just as amazing now as she did at the start of her career, having just turned 50. Electra has never been afraid to show some skin and her impressive figure. She did so again in a new swimsuit photo, captioned it “Palm Springs.” And another: "It’s almost that time again 🧡 #birthday #tangerine." How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 6 ways Carmen Electra stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She’s Confident In Herself

Electra is confident in herself and with her body. In fact, she says that this mindset helps her stay healthy and live well. “One of the sexiest qualities you can have is to be confident in who you are,” she told Joan Rivers. “You have to accept yourself for who you are, flaws and all. Always be yourself.”

2. She Drinks A Lot Of Water

Electra opened up about her wellness secrets to The Cut. She says that a big part of her routine is staying hydrated each day. “I made it a rule that I have to drink two bottles of water before I start my day,” she says. I used to drink soda, but I don’t get any caffeine any more. It’s been my New Year’s resolution [to drink water] for like seven years. Finally when I started dancing again and working on music, I noticed that I was dehydrated from being so active and consistently sweating. I started drinking water and noticed a change in my body overnight. It’s easier for me now to keep the weight off, whereas before, it was more of a struggle. Before I had to be perfectly healthy when I was drinking soda to lose weight. My skin is completely different because it’s not as dehydrated. Water has changed my life.”

3. She’s Disciplined

Electra grew up dancing, and she says that this has helped her in her adult life. Electra told The Cut that dancing has helped her stay disciplined when it comes to working out. “I realized that because of my dance background, I already have discipline and I don’t need to be pushed. I think I’ve saved a lot of money too. As a dancer, I’ve never put strict rules on my workout habits and sometimes I just want to go to the gym and do something light.”

4. She Listens To Her Body

Electra tells The Cut that one wellness secret that she is working on is saying “no” to things. To do this, Electra says that she listens to her body at all times. “I listen to my body. There have been times in my life where I’ve pushed myself so hard to do everything, and I had to learn how to say no. It’s important in dating to say no, in your daily life, and with your friends.”

5. She Doesn’t Worry

Badgley Mischka - Backstage - September 2018 - New York Fashion Week: The ShowsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Another wellness thing Electra is working on incorporating into her life is worrying less. She tells The Cut that she doesn’t want to live her life with regrets or wondering what could’ve happened. “Stop worrying so much, things usually work out. I used to worry myself so much where I didn’t sleep or I didn’t take care of myself, but when I looked back it was meaningless. I look back and think about things that I’ve missed, being happy because I was so worried about something silly. I don’t want to look back at things with regrets.”

6. She Eats A Balanced Diet

Electra broke down her diet in an interview with Women Fitness. She says that she mostly eats healthy, but also believes in having a cheat day or giving into indulgences. “Some days, I eat whatever I want as long as I’m exercising enough. My biggest struggle is my cravings for sweets, but I’ve learned to take it easy on myself and get the cravings out of the way so I don’t obsess over them. My ultimate goal is to eat healthy all week and have Sunday as my cheat day where I can eat as much as I want and whatever I want.”

My biggest struggle is my cravings for sweets, but I’ve learned to take it easy on myself and get the cravings out of the way so I don’t obsess over them. My ultimate goal is to eat healthy all week and have Sunday as my cheat day where I can eat as much as I want and whatever I want.”

Last year, Cabello donated money to grassroots causes and activists. She explained her reasons for doing so to The Hollywood Reporter, “I’ve realized there’s so much more I can and must do to support others who are doing the work to heal our communities…. Grassroots organizers are faced with the exhaustion, emotional burden and trauma that comes with fighting against inequitable systems. Our hope is to offer access to the necessary support they may need as they continue their critical work advocating for social justice.”

Her trainer, Stephen Moyer, broke down the diet he helped Dobrev craft to Shape. “I stress a diet that is balanced,” Moyer said. “It's not no-carb or low-carb; it's correct-carb (for all I know, I coined this term). Very few processed foods. Lots of vegetables. No diet should be too restrictive. For all the people out there against calorie counting, you really can't progress in your knowledge of nutrition until you understand your body's relationship to calories. It's calorie awareness, not calorie counting.”

5. Kim Kardashian

And if you remember her for her good looks, she does too; Electra frequently posts flashback photos or swimsuit images, and did so today, with the simple caption on one yellow number: “Yellow 💛.” How does she stay so fit? 1. This is Her Take on Wellness

“I listen to my body. There have been times in my life where I’ve pushed myself so hard to do everything, and I had to learn how to say no. It’s important in dating to say no, in your daily life, and with your friends. I think boundaries are really healthy. When you feel guilty about having boundaries in your life, that’s a problem. People don’t respond to boundaries well; they think that you’re being selfish. But if you’re not taking care of yourself, then you can’t take care of anyone else,” she told The Cut a while back.

2. She Has Done Aerobics

Carmen put out DVDs with aerobic routines. “Healthy adults should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week, or an equivalent combination of moderate and vigorous activity. That doesn't have to be all at one time, though. For example, brisk walking for 30 minutes, five days a week meets the guidelines. Aerobic exercise can even be done in short blocks of time, such as several walk breaks spread throughout the day. Any activity is better than none at all,” says the Mayo Clinic.

3. She Hydrates Well

“I started drinking water and noticed a change in my body overnight. It’s easier for me now to keep the weight off, whereas before, it was more of a struggle. Before I had to be perfectly healthy when I was drinking soda to lose weight. My skin is completely different because it’s not as dehydrated. Water has changed my life,” she told The Cut.

4. She Takes Strength Training Seriously

In Muscle and Fitness, Electra showed off a number of strength training movies, including squats and planks. “If you’re just getting started, work with a fitness specialist who is familiar with proper weight training techniques and can help you find the right weight for your fitness level. If you’re concerned about exposure to COVID-19, many fitness clubs offer virtual fitness training right now,” says the Cleveland Clinic. “As you begin strength training, you’ll notice your muscles get sore after each session — at least you should experience some muscle soreness if you’re pushing your muscles to grow.” This is what builds muscle.

5. She’s Used a Foam Roller

Part of Carmen’s routine, according to Shape, involved using a foam roller. “Using a foam roller, also known as self-myofascial release, is a good way to loosen up before a workout and reduce muscle soreness afterwards. Try these foam rolling techniques to restore your sore muscles. Go very slowly and hold each position for 30 seconds or more. Remember to never roll over a joint or bone,” says the Mayo Clinic.

3. Dancing Is Her Go-To Workout

“Dancing is the best exercise for me, but if I’m not dancing I hit the gym,” Carmen told Women Fitness. She added to The Cut that her background on the dancefloor has given her a great foundation for fitness. "I realized that because of my dance background, I already have discipline and I don't need to be pushed. I think I've saved a lot of money too. As a dancer, I've never put strict rules on my workout habits and sometimes I just want to go to the gym and do something light,” she said.

4. She Listens to Her Body

"I look at fitness as a way of expressing myself," Carmen told Muscle & Fitness. She detailed her workout to Women Fitness. “I usually start off with about 20 minutes of cardio, either riding the bike or walking on an incline. Then, I do a series of sit-ups to keep my core tight. Otherwise, it’s all legs for me— the sled or squats mixed in with some other exercises as well. I stopped working out my arms for some time, but now I’m planning on getting back into it so I keep balance throughout my entire body,” she said.

Leonie Hanne is living her best life in Thailand – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the German model flaunts her fantastic figure in a $750 Missoni bathing suit while enjoying a boating day in the tropics. “She dreamed of a tropical adventure 🦋,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Stunning,” commented one of her followers. ”So beautiful,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Coffee

Leonie enjoys the perks of caffeine. In one of her posts from Thailand, she drinks a cup of coffee at the poolside. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Pilates

Leonie does Pilates at the super exclusive London studio Pilates in the Clouds. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress, and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

At-Home Workouts

Leonie tries to get a workout in daily, preferably in the morning. I still try to get up early to maintain a sense of routine. I start every day with a quick at-home workout and a homemade acai bowl, before starting work on emails and content creation. I’ve been getting really into TikTok lately, it’s funny and keeps me feeling energised!” she told Arcadia.

Community

It takes a village, according to Leonie. “Community is key! The people you surround yourself with are more important than ever, as we are all trying to find ways to stay connected without being physically present. Speaking to people either on the phone or through social media can shift your mindset and motivation more than ever before,” she says.

Small, Healthy Habits

Leonie focuses on maintaining small, healthy habits. “Do something every day that brings you joy. Even if that means having something small to look forward to, like having your favourite snacks around the house or changing into an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself,” she says.

Sophie Piper is embracing island life – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the Love Island beauty shows off her fantastic figure in a swimsuit during a tropical vacation at Kandima Maldives with Josh Ritchie. “Island life,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps taken at the picturesque resort. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

UCLA Health reports, “Cottage cheese’s protein content and low calories make it an ideal food for weight management. Research shows that whether you are trying to lose weight or reduce your risk of overweight or obesity, eating a high-protein diet can help you feel full and satisfied for longer.”
