Diet and Movement

Theron is sensible about her diet, and balancing it out with her workouts. "I'm always calculating my activity," she says. "If I haven't been moving a lot, I can't eat a lot. Or maybe it's a cheat day. But I'm honest with myself. When I leave to go exercise, my kids will say, 'Where are you going?' I tell them that I'm going someplace to make sure my heart works for a very, very long time!"

Theron loves Pilates, saying it totally changed her body. "The nice thing about Pilates is you don't have to break a sweat if you don't want to — but you can also work the exercises quickly (bearing in mind fluidity, of course!) to get your heart rate going," says Johns Hopkins Medicine. "Or, because Pilates is primarily about strength and flexibility, pair your pilates workout with a form of aerobic exercise like swimming or brisk walking."

Outdoorsy Type

Theron is happiest when working out in the fresh air. "I've always believed that if you find something you love, exercise won't be a chore," she says. "I love anything outdoorsy. My mom recently got me to play tennis, which I wasn't good at, but really enjoyed it. If you do the exercise you enjoy you're keeping yourself fit without even realizing it."

Green Juices

Theron makes an effort to eat a healthy and nutritious diet. "I have juices and kale and green salads every day," she says. "When I'm eating healthily, getting enough sleep and not drinking alcohol, that's when I look my best. That's when I'm happiest and I think it shows."

Simple Routine

 

When it comes to her skincare and beauty routine, Theron keeps things as simple as possible.  "We wake up really early in my house—5:45 a.m," she says. "I'm a single mom trying to get two kids ready, pack the lunchboxes, and not miss the bus.When I wake up I just rinse my face and put on sunscreen."
