1. She Eats Every Four Hours
Handler eats frequently throughout the day to keep her blood sugar levels stable. "I eat every three to four hours," she tells Women’s Health. "I always make sure I have something every three to four hours because a nutritionist once taught me it's the best way to control your blood sugar levels. I think when you consistently feed your body, you have less of an inclination to [pig out]. I like to eat light and I don't overdo it now. When I'm eating, I take my time and pay attention to when I'm full."
2. She Drinks Celery Juice

"I wake up at 6 a.m.," she says. "It doesn't matter what country or what state or what timezone I'm in, I always wake up at six exactly. My biorhythm knows that it's 6 a.m. somewhere, just like it knows it's five o'clock somewhere when I need to start drinking. I usually have fresh celery juice first thing in the morning and don't eat anything for a few hours." “Although celery has a high water content, it contains numerous vitamins and minerals, including potassium and calcium, which are important for heart health,” says registered nutritionist Nicole Shubrook. “It also contains folate and vitamin K, both of which are required for the formation of red blood cells and effective blood clotting. Celery is also a good source of protective plant compounds called flavonoids, which have anti-inflammatory and protective effects on the cardiovascular system. Diets high in fibrous foods like celery are associated with a lower risk of heart disease.”
3. She Loves Parmesan

"I try and go for as long as I can without eating in the morning. I usually work out from 8 to 9, and then eat after," she says. "I have scrambled egg whites with avocado, and then that really old-school grated Parmesan cheese that you get in those little plastic containers and scoop out. I douse my egg whites in Parmesan cheese because that is my favorite flavor in the world." Handler says she does eat much salt—probably because the Parmesan is salty enough!
4. She Flavors Her Water

"I have water in my fridge that has lemon, lime, and cucumber," Handler tells Women’s Health. "I'm not a fan of water, so in order to drink it I have to doctor it up. I have to add stuff to make it palatable and it has to be ice-cold; everything I drink has to be ice-cold."
5. She Eats Oysters Three Times a Week

"If I'm in LA, I go to my favorite restaurant, Blue Plate Oysterette in Santa Monica, and I get a dozen oysters," she says. "Those grilled oysters are my favorite thing in Los Angeles." Handler gets oysters three times a week—but she loves getting her greens in, too. "I'm into greens and broccoli and Brussels sprouts over kale," she explains. "I try and have something green every day. I will have turkey wrapped up with a bunch of iceberg lettuce, a lot of avocado, some mustard, and some light, organic mayo.”
6. She Loves Turkey Meatballs

"If I'm home and not going out, I make something for myself like turkey meatballs," Handler says. "There are like five stock items in my fridge at all times: sliced turkey, turkey meatballs (which I love to heat up with tomato sauce), Parmesan, arugula, and vegetarian chicken nuggets.”
7. She Doesn’t Like “Heavy” Foods
Handler avoids starchy pastas and rice. "I don't like heavy foods, like pasta with cream sauce, the way I used to, she says. "I just don't like the way I feel after. I stay away from heavy rice and gluten and anything like that. If I'm at a really good restaurant and they have incredible pasta, I'll totally have it, but I try not to do that on a regular basis.”
