1. She Suffered From “Huge Imposter Syndrome”
Dove has struggled to find herself over the years. “I never had that moment where I was like, ‘I am a Disney girl.’ I never looked at Miley or Demi or Selena or Zendaya or Bella or anybody — Hilary Duff or anybody that came before me — I never looked at them and thought, you and me — same. I was always the strange outlier who doesn’t belong and who will never fit in. I had huge impostor syndrome. I felt like I was wearing a rubber mask or something. So I don’t really look to anybody else for a roadmap,” she told the LA Times.
2. She Goes to Therapy

Dove takes care of herself before anything else. “Also — and I cannot stress this enough — my life has always been personal stuff first and career stuff, like, fourth. More often than not my life is therapy, journaling, songwriting, poetry. I don’t really run into people very often,” she told the LA Times.
3. She Battled an Eating Disorder

“I’ve never said this before, but I had such a bad case of anorexia. I was so badly down that hole,” Cameron told StyleCaster. “I was not eating for days sometimes. But it was because I thought I needed to be absolutely tiny to be loved. I genuinely thought I needed to be as skinny as I possibly could to be loved and appreciated and good enough.”
4. She Works Hard to Be Healthy

“I’ve worked really hard to maintain health and a normality,” Cameron added. “And if someone wants to go on my Instagram and tell me that I am not as thin as I used to be, or I have a zit here, I don’t care about what that angry person has to say. What’s important is the freedom and the quality of my life. As long as my life is happy and healthy, so is my worldview.”
5. She Eats a Healthy Diet

Dove revealed what she eats in a day to Delish. Her favorite breakfast foods are avocado toast with salmon and a poached egg on top and flax seed oatmeal with flax seeds, chia seeds. Dove eats salmon with vegetables for lunch, and chicken or fish with vegetables for dinner. "I tend to eat really clean, because I feel better when I do," she dished to Delish. Her guilty pleasure? "I really like British food. It’s wholesome. I need hearty, carb-y food. I don’t like sugar very much, but I like savory things like that."
6. She Avoids Red Meat
Dove rarely eats red meat. "I just got to the point where if I eat red meat, my mood and energy plummet. I’ve just reached a weird moral point with it," she told Delish. Her substitute? A vegan burger with hummus on top.
