1

Exercise for Mental Health

East says regular exercise is important for both her mental and physical health. "Exercise is essential for my wellbeing – I feel so much more positive and energetic after I've been to the gym," she says. "There's a Barry's Bootcamp near to the radio studio and I'm always running on the treadmill, so I can keep my stamina up for when I'm on stage."

2

HIIT Workouts

East launched her own fitness account, and she is sharing her favorite workouts with fans.  "Here's a little taster of what you can expect from my Energising HIIT Program on @sweat ! These exercises are taken from Week 1, Workout 1. All you need is 30 minutes, a mat and some dumbbells and you can workout with me anywhere! You can try my program out for free in the Sweat app right now, click the link in my bio to get involved! I'd love for you to train with me!"

Nutritious Diet

East enjoys a balanced, nutritious diet complete with healthy snacks. "For breakfast, I'll have porridge with dried fruit and some honey," she says. "I make my own trail mix with walnuts, cashews and raisins as a snack – I brought this into the studio the other day and everyone was eating it! For lunch, I'll usually have brown rice with fish or chicken and then for dinner it'll be something light, such as noodle soup or pho. I also drink lots of water and I'm a green tea addict."

Overnight Oats With Coconut Milk

East loves overnight oats with coconut milk as a quick and easy breakfast or lunch. "Unlike cow's milk, coconut milk is lactose-free, so can be used as a milk substitute for those with lactose intolerance," says registered nutritionist Jo Lewin. "Lactose is the main type of carbohydrate in all mammalian milk, including human, goat and sheep. It's made up of two sugars, and your body needs an enzyme called lactase to adequately digest it. It's this enzyme that's lacking in those with lactose intolerance. Coconut milk is also a popular choice with vegans and makes a great base for smoothies or milkshakes and can be used as a dairy alternative in baking."

She Practices Self Care

East knows the importance of relaxing and focusing on herself. "I have to check in with myself quite often because I'm someone who can just get my head down and keep going," she says. "The one thing I do to wind down is to have a bath and put my music on. I like to be in the moment when I'm doing things and try not to get too caught up in what's going on in the outside world. I like to see my family and catch up with people that I love, that's how I look after myself."
