Wednesday star Riki Lindhome is stepping out of her comfort zone and stepping into some beautiful sunshine. Lindhome, who plays Dr. Valerie Kinbott on the hit Netflix show, shared a picture of herself looking fresh-faced and serene in a green one-piece swimsuit, posing by the pool. “Not a sun person or a pool person but here we are,” she captioned the post. Here’s what Lindhome’s health and wellness regimen looks like.

1. Hiking In the Hills

Los,Angeles,-,Nov,28:,Riki,Lindhome,At,The,CandyShutterstock

Lindhome is constantly active and exploring, even on her vacations. “Outdoor exercise can be fun and beneficial, but any type of exercise is worthwhile and worth pursuing,” according to ACE Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Institute. “Both forms can help you successfully achieve the desired results whether you exercise indoors or outdoors. It appears that the biggest benefit of an outdoor exercise routine is more mental than physical. The good, relaxed, positive feelings associated with an outdoor exercise routine can make it more enjoyable to perform and a person will most likely be more willing to ‘stick’ to it. Be active inside or out, but be active!”

2. Theater Fan

Pasadena,,Ca,Usa,-,Jan,7,2020:,Riki,Lindhome,ArrivesShutterstock

Lindhome loves going to the theater, which like other forms of entertainment, can positively impact mental health and wellbeing. “Participating in entertainment activities with others can help to foster social connections and improve mental health,” says Krish Tangella MD, MBA. “For example, going to a concert or joining a sports team can provide opportunities to meet new people and build friendships.”

3. Tea Drinker

Tray,Of,Tea,On,Bed.,White,Bedding,Sheets,With,BlanketShutterstock

Lindhome enjoys tea for a delicious energy boost. “Drinking black tea without added sweeteners can decrease blood glucose and improve your body’s ability to manage sugar,” according to the experts at UCLA Health. “Research also shows that black tea improves blood sugar levels immediately following meals in normal and pre-diabetic adults.”

4. World Travel

Lindhome travels around the world for work and for play. “Traveling for pleasure can contribute to subjective well-being because people have more opportunities to detach from their work environment, to experience new things, and to control what they want to do during vacations,” says Paul Simeone, PhD, Vice President and Medical Director of Behavioral Health with Lee Health. “There’s ample research to support that positive travel experiences can make a person healthier, can strengthen their relationships, and benefits their overall wellness.”

5. Red Wine For Celebration

Lindhome enjoys red wine on special occasions. “Red wine is sometimes seen as a healthy choice, particularly as we associate it with the Mediterranean diet,” says British Heart Foundation senior dietician Victoria Taylor. “But while it is often included in the traditional diet, it isn’t an essential part and should be drunk in moderation. It contains antioxidants, which reportedly have a range of benefits. However, other foods – including grapes, blueberries and strawberries – provide antioxidants without the negative effects of alcohol.

Magnum P.I. star Chantal Thuy took a trip to Santa Barbara for some much needed rest and relaxation at the end of summer, celebrating her birthday with some well-deserved alone time. The actress shared a picture of herself posing in the pool in a blue bikini, a chilled drink in front of her. “Mommy break time 💛🥳💛,” she captioned the post. “Mommy breaks are super important!” a fan commented. Thuy is as much an activist as she is an artist—here’s how she combines the two worlds and makes a difference.

1. Beach Lover

Chantal,Thuy,Attends,19th,Annual,Unforgettable,Gala,At,The,BeverlyShutterstock

Thuy loves the beach, calling it her happy place. “High levels of minerals such as magnesium, iodine and potassium are found in sea water, all of which help fight off infection, assist the body in healing and detoxifying and provide therapeutic effects,” says UPMC Health. “The health benefits of ocean air also detoxify the body by filling your lungs with negatively charged ions that boost your immune system. Swimming in sea water also unclogs pores in the skin and allows for the expulsion of toxins from the body. Another benefit of sea water includes enhanced circulation. Sea water restores essential minerals that have been depleted by poor diet, stress and environmental toxins.”

2. Pizza and Salad

A typical meal for Thuy is pizza with a big side salad. “Pile the vegetable toppings high, or serve along with a salad, and your pizza meal is incredibly balanced,” says nutritionist Dana Angelo White, MS, RD, ATC. “Lean meats like chicken and ground turkey are welcomed additions. Toppings can also be placed atop a cooked pizza – that is the best time to pile on fresh herbs, a drizzle of hot honey or some lightly dressed greens.”

3. Representing Asian Actors

Thuy is proud to act as a role model for Asian people on screen. “Part of the reason I chose acting as my craft was because there was such a huge lack of diversity on TV and cinema in my hometown of Montreal, Quebec,” she says. “To this day, the industry there still lags behind in terms of representation, and that’s something I have always wanted to defy. Hopefully, I can do my part so young people of color in Quebec can grow up feeling like they matter – that they’re seen and have a right to exist with all their colors, quirks, and weirdness. It also just makes me mad that Asian Americans are largely ignored in popular media. This has got to change! Acting has given me my voice, so I am deeply grateful that I can live in a way that satisfies both my social activist and artistic sides.”

4. LGBTQ Role Model

Chantal,Thuy,Attends,18th,Annual,Unforgettable,Gala,At,The,BeverlyShutterstock

Thuy says she is honored to give marginalized communities exposure. “I’m moved by the support and love from Black Lightning fans in the LGBTQ community,” she says. “They are my favorite people in the world, and I want to give them so much love! I’m super proud and honored to play Grace Choi and to do my part to give them voice and visibility, especially young LGBTQ women of color. I understand how identifying as bisexual is still confusing for society, and that some people don’t think it’s a legit thing. But it is! I remember years ago reading an article arguing that we all fall somewhere on the sexual orientation spectrum. It’s important to me that I am neither straight nor a lesbian; I am bisexual, and that is its own thing. I’ve loved hearing from fans how much it’s meant to them to hear that proudly and unequivocally spoken.”

5. Fresh Fruit

Thuy loves snacking on fresh fruit, including pineapple, papaya, and watermelon. “Pineapple is the only food known to contain bromelain, an enzyme that helps your skin and tissues heal,” says Julia Zumpano, RD, LD. “Bromelain appears to produce substances that combat in pain and swelling. If you have achy joints from osteoarthritis, try adding pineapple into your diet, but don’t stop taking your medications or change your dose without talking to your doctor.”

Indian actress Kate Sharma is enjoying a magical trip to the island of Koh Samui, Thailand. Sharma shared a reel of herself swimming in a beautiful pool, wearing a bright pink swimsuit and sarong, with palms and blue skies in the background. “Poolside paradise 😍,” she captioned the post. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Sharma stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. Fresh Lime Soda

Sharma’s go-to drink is fresh lime soda. “Limes are packed with antioxidants and phytonutrients," says Carly Sedlacek RDN, LD. “Limes are low in calories, high in micronutrients and punch above their weight with regard to both water and fiber content. They’re really good for us, but most of us aren’t going to make a snack of them. The juice — without added sugar — is the best we can do.”

2. Running Outside

Sharma loves running outside, especially at the beach. “There’s good evidence that spending time outside can reduce stress, depression levels, and anxiety,” says Josh Lawler, a UW environmental & forest sciences professor. “We suspect that one of the routes for the physical benefits is through [the] decreased stress and anxiety.”

3. She Chooses Happiness

Sharma says she chooses happiness in her personal life. “I don't date much but I have had rough patches in relationships. Ups and down are part of life and moving on is an art of life,” she says. “Break ups were there but that all made me so strong and I am a girl who looks at the broader aspect in life. So pain was there but feeling the pain and being sad is a choice.

So I chose happiness. It took time to heal but today I learned happiness is the most important thing in this world.”

4. Bathing Beauty

Sharma loves to take baths. “Taking a bath has great physical and mental health benefits,” says family medicine provider Amy Zack, MD. “Soaking in a tub is something many people have access to but don’t take advantage of enough. But it can be beneficial for a lot of people.”

5. She Is an Artist

When it comes to her career, Sharma loves the benefits creativity brings to her life. “Artist is an artist, no matter where he/she performs," she says. "It’s always a pack of feelings and entertainment which we have to give to the audience. Films and music videos both tell a story. The only difference is that films are on a larger scale in every form, while music videos take less time but require the same level of consistency and hard work as an artist."

1. Balanced Lifestyle

Kirkconnell works hard, but makes sure she has fun too. "I think the key is balance!” she says. “If you know you are about to indulge in a heavy meal that night, make sure you are getting a good workout in that morning and have a super light and healthy breakfast and lunch… I'm a huge believer in the 80/20 rule, while we love to go out to eat or splurge on big meals, we have more meals that are healthy and nutritious than not. 80% healthy, 20% treats!”

2. Always Ready For a Workout

Kirkconnell makes sure she is always ready for a good workout, even when she’s on the road. “Other than a good pair of sneakers or headphones, I also think some workout gear like Bala Bangles or resistance bands help you get a good workout in anywhere, even in your living room!” she says. “Some of my favorite shoes to work out in lately are either the On Cloudnovas or lululemon Chargefeels, they're so comfortable and versatile and I love the way they look.”

3. She’s a Dancer

Kirkconnell helped boyfriend Matt James rehearse for his stint on Dancing with the Stars. "She's been my dance partner outside of Dancing with the Stars," James says. "I come back and try to apply the same lessons that I learned during my rehearsals. She's been keeping me in shape!"

4. Sushi Lover

Kirkconnell loves sushi, especially omega-3 packed salmon. “Omega-3 fatty acids may lower your cardiovascular disease risk when you consume them as part of your diet,” says the Cleveland Clinic. “In general, it’s better to opt for food sources (like fish) rather than pills.”

5. Post-Workout Skincare

Kirkconnell makes sure to take care of her skin after getting a workout. “Paula's Choice has some great Gentle Cleansing Cloths that are oil-free and great to use right when you're done sweating,” she says. “I also love to use the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask whenever I'm on the go as a moisturizer.” She also wears sunscreen every day.

Leonie Hanne is living her best life in Thailand – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the German model flaunts her fantastic figure in a $750 Missoni bathing suit while enjoying a boating day in the tropics. “She dreamed of a tropical adventure 🦋,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Stunning,” commented one of her followers. ”So beautiful,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Coffee

Leonie enjoys the perks of caffeine. In one of her posts from Thailand, she drinks a cup of coffee at the poolside. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Pilates

Leonie does Pilates at the super exclusive London studio Pilates in the Clouds. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress, and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

At-Home Workouts

Leonie tries to get a workout in daily, preferably in the morning. I still try to get up early to maintain a sense of routine. I start every day with a quick at-home workout and a homemade acai bowl, before starting work on emails and content creation. I’ve been getting really into TikTok lately, it’s funny and keeps me feeling energised!” she told Arcadia.

Community

It takes a village, according to Leonie. “Community is key! The people you surround yourself with are more important than ever, as we are all trying to find ways to stay connected without being physically present. Speaking to people either on the phone or through social media can shift your mindset and motivation more than ever before,” she says.

Small, Healthy Habits

Leonie focuses on maintaining small, healthy habits. “Do something every day that brings you joy. Even if that means having something small to look forward to, like having your favourite snacks around the house or changing into an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself,” she says.

Sophie Piper is embracing island life – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the Love Island beauty shows off her fantastic figure in a swimsuit during a tropical vacation at Kandima Maldives with Josh Ritchie. “Island life,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps taken at the picturesque resort. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

She Loves Bananas

Tammy Hebrew has a banana snack.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying bananas in her “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

She Loves Cottage Cheese

Tammy Hebrew's snack the contains banana and cottage cheese.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying her bananas with cottage cheese in the previous Instagram video. Cottage cheese is very healthy. UCLA Health reports, “Cottage cheese’s protein content and low calories make it an ideal food for weight management. Research shows that whether you are trying to lose weight or reduce your risk of overweight or obesity, eating a high-protein diet can help you feel full and satisfied for longer.”
