Businesswoman, model, and influencer Iskra Lawrence made an exciting new announcement on Instagram. Iskra announced that she's starting a new lifestyle brand, called the Self Funding Planner. Iskra says that the business serves as a daily lifestyle planner, motivator, and journals. She Doesn't Stress About Weight Gain

In this post from her Instagram, Lawrence says that she isn't worried about her weight or what her body looks like, and doesn't try to conform to society's beauty standards. Iskra encourages others to do the same.  She captioned the photo, "When all we see is weight gain we negate all the life we've lived. As a society we perpetuate an obsession with physical appearance by judging one another and commenting on weight change. I've had hundreds of comments over the years about the size of my body – especially postpartum. So when I look in the mirror and see weight gain I choose instead to see all the other things I've gained from living life. Not being consumed with the fear of weight gain or the obsession with weight loss thanks to recovery has allowed me to achieve so much more."

She Writes Positive Things

In the same post from her Instagram, Lawrence writes several ways she's used in the past on her path to self-acceptance and body positivity. She encourages her followers to try the methods she's used. One of these methods was writing down positive things about herself, that don't have to do with her body or weight. "Start off by thinking of all the things you've gained that aren't to do with your weight / appearance, write them down in a journal or a post it note on your mirror."

She Compliments Herself

One of the ways Lawrence has learned to accept her body is by giving herself compliments. She writes on Instagram, "Start finding ways to compliment yourself and others that aren't appearance based." Iskra posts some of these compliments in the posts, which includes, "I love your sense of style," and "You're a good listener."

She Exercises Often

 

Lawrence tells StyleCaster that she makes sure to exercise often. She says, "It's all about consistency, as I've been working for the body I have today for the last four years. I do my best to train at least three times a week, though sometimes it doesn't happen."

She Prepares To Eat Healthy When She Travels

It can be difficult to eat healthy while traveling, especially if you're going to a new place. However, Lawrence tells StyleCaster that it is possible, and she makes sure to prepare for trips. "Prepare, and don't use traveling as an excuse. Research healthy restaurants or food stores, and buy snacks—nuts, fruit, protein bars—so you don't reach for junk. Even if you only do squats while you're brushing your teeth or some ab exercises before bed, just do it! You will thank yourself for it."
