1. Go For a Run

In a recent interview with Celebwell, Jana, the brand spokesperson for Unisom’s drug-free Simple Slumbers Midnight Raspberry Gummies, revealed that exercising daily is not only one of her top fitness tips but also sleeping tricks. “If I don't work out or go for a run that day, it will absolutely impact how I sleep,” she revealed. “After the kids are at school is when I will work out or go for a run.” She generally hits the pavement 4-5 times a week. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. “For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories,” they say.

2. Eat Healthy

Jana also encourages a healthy diet. “Your body needs good fuel and energy to get you to the end of the day and if I don't prioritize that, I definitely feel it at night,” she says.

3. Don’t Overlook Gut Health

Jana emphasizes the importance of gut health. “I have been hyper-focused on gut health recently,” she tells us, “so I've been cutting back on cheese which has been very hard.”

4. Lift Weights

One of Jana’s go-to forms of fitness? “I like to do a few days of strength training,” she says. How often should you lift weights? Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, per the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

5. Indulge in Self-Care

Jana stresses the importance of self-care “I love a good bath, reading, or journaling,” she says. Baths are actually scientifically proved to help you sleep better and can also be helpful for minimizing anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits.

6. Hydrate

Jana also makes sure to hydrate.“I drink about a gallon of water a day,” she says. According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids.

7. Prioritize Sleep

Jana also priortizes sleep. “For me it's to put the kiddo's down, finish up any work and then a nice cup of tea. If my mind is racing and it's a busy time, I take my Unisom Simple Slumbers to help me fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer in order to wake up feeling refreshed!” she reveals.

1. Jana Likes This Breakfast

Jana-KramerJana Kramer/Instagram

Jana will sometimes have eggs (over easy) with avocado toast. Good choice. "An avocado is technically a fruit, and it's a nutritious fruit," Katherine Zeratsky, a Mayo Clinic registered dietitian nutritionist, tells the Mayo Clinic, which adds: “She says avocados are getting their moment in the limelight because they taste good and have health benefits." “Avocados are healthy, despite being a little higher in fat. The type of fat matters." The protein in the eggs also boost her energy and build muscle.

2. She Has Discipline

“She had a lot of discipline during her pregnancy. She really stayed on track,” said trainer Erin Oprea to Us Weekly. “We worked out consistently and not every workout was hard and things weren’t always intense, but we worked out consistently ‘til the day before the baby was born and so her bounce-back was quick.”

3. Working Out is Her “Sanity”

"Working out for me is my sanity…Even just going for a walk, that is a place where I come back and I'm like, 'I feel good, I feel balanced,'" Kramer told Us Weekly in 2019. "Working out is 100% how I stay level." “Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal,” says one important study. “Thirty minutes of exercise of moderate intensity, such as brisk walking for 3 days a week, is sufficient for these health benefits. Moreover, these 30 minutes need not to be continuous; three 10-minute walks are believed to be as equally useful as one 30-minute walk.”

4. She Blocks Out the Negative Voices

2021 iHeartRadio Music Festival - Night 1 – Press RoomDavid Becker/Getty Images

Jana said of her song “Voices”: “I feel like so many of us have all these negative voices in our head and the goal is to obviously not think of them and to be like, ‘no,’ so for my situation, with this song, it's in the words, it's like, you know, I'm not enough, I'm broken. I'm not worthy of love. And it's just like, ‘no,’ like, yes, I might be broken, but like I am worthy, and… I am enough. I do deserve love. And so just letting, the positive voices come in and not allowing the negative voices to stay there because that's when you can get depressed and just really talk down on yourself. And I just want people to not have those negative things bringing them down,” she told Kyle Meredith With.

5. She Loves Being an Indie Artist Now

Brooks Brothers Hosts Special Holiday Celebration To Benefit St. Jude Children's Research HospitalTommaso Boddi/Getty Images

As an independent artist: “I can do whatever I want. And the crazy thing is, is like some of the songs are leading a little poppy. Some are a little like Avril Lavigne, some are country and I'm just like, and you know what? I could put it all in one album and be like, here you go. I can do whatever the heck I wanna do. And like, that's so great and I can own it and it's mine and no one can tell me whatever. If I like it, I can put it on there. I have like amazing team. I've got my best friend, she helps me with all of it. If she tells me it sucks, like obviously I'm not gonna be like, well screw you, I'm still putting it on this album. So I still listen to what people say, but at the end of the day I can make my own decision, which is awesome.”

In a recent Instagram the mother-of-two explains that she doesn’t show off her body for attention, but is simply proud of her transformation. “Because when I look at this photo, I see strength. If I’m honest, I lost a little too much weight after my divorce, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the number I saw. But that’s an unhealthy way to look at it. It should never be about the number. It should be about how you feel,” she wrote. “I have been actively becoming strong again for me. I look at this pic now and I’m proud of myself for the hard work and commitment to loving myself. This body made two beautiful humans. I’m proud of my body. And it’s not just because I have new boobs, though yes they are two perks :) and since my breast augmentation I have felt more empowered about my decision. I’m proud that I have made choices for me. And I want to encourage you to do what makes you happy too… move the way you want to move… show off what you are proud of… feel your strength. And be proud of YOU, no matter what shape or size you are.”

2. She Trains with Erin Oprea

Jana is also a huge fan of running, after Oprea suggested she partake in the calorie-blasting cardio workout. “I hated running and now I love it,” she confessed. “It’s helped me lean out.”

4. Moderation Is Key

“I personally think everything in moderation,” Jana has said about her approach to diet. “I had a chocolate chip cookie last night. I will eat another one tonight. I don’t think you should deprive yourself of anything. I think, eat when you are hungry. But all-around diet is how I do it.”

5. She Works Out for the Mental Health Benefits As Well

In an Instagram story earlier this year, Jana explained that she works out even when she doesn’t feel like it because it ultimately makes her feel better. “Still not feeling 100 percent,” she explained. “But I'm still going to run it out, sweat it out." She previously explained to Us Weekly that exercise helps her keep sane. “Working out for me is my sanity…Even just going for a walk, that is a place where I come back and I'm like, 'I feel good, I feel balanced. Working out is 100% how I stay level."

Kramer is a big fan of enjoying kale. When The New Potato asked her what her favorite smoothies and salads were, Kramer answered,“My perfect smoothie would consist of kale, spinach, cucumber, parsley, lots of ginger and lemon. I love all salads, but my favorite would be a Kale Caesar.” "Kale’s pungent, slightly bitter, peppery taste stands on its own very well — steamed, sauteed or baked into yummy kale chips. If you find kale’s taste a bit strong, look for blends of kale with other greens or try milder baby kale. Don’t forget to remove the tough middle part so you don’t get a bitter taste in your mouth after chewing on it," says the Cleveland Clinic.

In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
