She Believes In Moderation
Mai revealed her wellness routine to ET Online. She says that she likes to keep her diet balanced. "My diet is a combination of eating whatever I want, as long as I'm physically active and also consuming water, fruits and vegetables daily," Mai explains. "While I may enjoy a delicious pizza, I'll also make myself an acai bowl or a power protein smoothie to snack on throughout the day."
She Works Out On A Regular Basis
Mai tells ET Online that she makes sure to work out on a regular basis. "My job always keeps me moving and my husband just built a gym in our home," she says. "So that daily reminder to get a workout in is really convenient and impossible to ignore. I try to get at least an hour of movement in every day and I love anything outdoors including tennis, jump rope, swimming, and bike riding."
She Makes Time For Herself
Mai has a busy schedule. However, she always makes time for herself. "I love taking a bath with a book and keeping my phone off, taking myself out on a lunch date, going on long walks, binging my favorite YouTube shows instead of going out for the night, taking naps, and meditating in the morning instead of getting straight out of bed in a rush."
She Weight Trains
One thing Mai likes to do to stay in shape is weight train. She opened up about how she got into weight training in this Instagram post. "I used to RUN from heavy weights," she writes. "Because I was sooo afraid of 'getting buff' or looking like a dude'. Not tuhday hunnay. After 9 months of consuming healthy calories to bulk my bod, I'm now lifting heavy to shape & slowly build muscle to get stronger."
She Takes Care Of Her Heart
Mai is all about preventing heart disease. She even went to a gala for the American Heart Association. "Not only was I not aware of it, but I also didn't know that new moms are even more at risk of heart disease because of what a stressful life it is," she said to SheKnows at the event. "The last four months of my life, have been the most tumultuous, most hair-raising, most tiring and the most rewarding. So the rewarding part makes you forget that you also have to take care of yourself…You know, I know about self-love, but to me, self-care is like a spa and getting a manicure. I never thought to actually go and take a walk and maybe change my diet up and even go get tested to see how my heart is doing."
