She Has Done the Keto Diet

In the past, Wright has done the Keto diet. "It's a really really healthy way to control my appetite and lose a tiny bit of weight," she said. You've probably heard about the ultra-strict ketogenic diet, in which you erase all carbohydrates from your diet—including the ones contained in healthy fruits and some veggies, and focus instead on fats and proteins. And yes, everyone from biohacking Silicon Valley billionaires to human-abdominal-muscle Zac Efron to Middle Americans swear by it. And, truth be told, it does work. Technically, your brain will function off of ketones produced in the liver in place of glucose. But the jury is out on the long-term health effects, so it remains controversial as a long term weight-loss solution.

She Plays to Her Strengths

"I've learned over the years you can try and get the shape and body you want. But you're born with your shape and metabolism. So you need to play with your strengths." it's important to eat lean proteins, healthy fats and foods high in fiber to boost your metabolism. Because your metabolism peaks in your early 20s and slows itself down at a pace of around 2 percent every decade. According to some experts' calculations, your body burns 200 fewer calories per day at the age of 45 than it did when you were 25. That means that if you didn't change anything about your eating habits or adjust your behavior in the slightest, you'd be gaining upwards of 20 pounds a year.

"Whether you cook full recipes or just prepare a few healthy basics for a meal-prep buffet, stocking your fridge with the right kinds of fuel will save you a lot of time—and calories—throughout the week. Plus, research has shown that spending more than an hour a day on meal prep is linked to better dietary habits, like eating fruits and vegetables, which can help the scale tip in your favor," says our sister site Eat This, Not That!

Avocados have omega-9s. Oleic acid (OEA), also known as Omega-9, is the primary monounsaturated fat found in olive oil, but it's also found in sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, and sesame oil. Oleic acid can help reduce appetite and promote weight loss. Studies have shown that a higher intake of monounsaturated fat may raise the "good" high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol without raising the "bad" low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. It's also been found to enhance uptake of essential fat-burning nutrients compared to other oils while down-regulating expression of certain fat genes. Additionally, research out of the University of California, Irvine, found that this particular type of fat boosts memory.

Be Yourself, She Advises

"We always strive to be other people but it's about owning your body – if you are curvy, tanned, or not. Whenever I think I'm not tanned I feel bigger. I might just cover up a bit more," she has said. "Wear what suits you and do what it takes for you to feel comfortable, and just own it."
