She Speaks Out

Kardashian isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in. One cause she is passionate about is gun control. She wrote a letter calling for stricter gun laws in 2017. "After what happened to me in Paris, I know how important it is to be safe and to have armed security. All of my security is armed, but they also support stricter gun control laws and believe that we should restrict access to firearms for people with mental illness, anyone previously convicted of a misdemeanor, those who have been subject to a temporary restraining order and those at a higher risk of committing gun violence."

She Worked With A Nutritionist

After giving birth to her second child in 2015, Kardashian worked with nutritionist Colette Heimowitz, to help her lose weight. Heimowitz broke down the reality star's diet to SELF. She ate a lot of protein, healthy fats, and carbs with a lot of fiber. Heimowitz explained to the magazine, "Your body uses fat as fuel because it doesn't have carbohydrates to turn to, so you end up losing body fat. And since you've got an adequate protein supply, you still maintain your muscle."

She Doesn't Starve Herself

Heimowitz tells SELF that she encouraged Kardashian not to starve herself. She stressed the importance of eating on a regular basis each day. "Even if you're not hungry, eat a little," she says. "Eat three meals and two snacks a day, and you're less likely to lose your resolve."

When Kardashian was about to turn 40, she decided to make some dietary changes. She revealed her plan on her Instagram story. "I'm on a 40th birthday countdown, so I have to just be," she said. "I'm trying to eat less sugar and just less carbs."

She Eats Carbs Before and After She Works Out

While Kardashian does cut out carbs on occasion, she also isn't afraid to eat them. She wrote on her app that she eats carbs both before and after a workout. "My trainer Mel [Alcantara] always says that before and after you train, you should eat simple carbs, like sweet potatoes, and small amounts of fat and protein, like chicken."
