She Has Support

Petras opened up about her life and career to The Guardian. She says that her parents have always been very supportive of her, especially when she was struggling. "My dysphoria was bad as a child," she says. "I was suicidal from really young into my teenage years. There was no medical care locally, so from the age of 10 my parents took me across Germany to find doctors to treat me. They pushed for me to get the help I needed, and believed me. And that was over a decade ago, it was a totally different time."

She's Driven

Petras is extremely driven. She opened up about the early stages of her career in her Guardian interview. "I can't tell you how driven I was," she says. "It's the only thing I woke up for. I wrote song after song, desperate to get good…Every day I thought about giving up. But I couldn't. You just have to get up again and again until people can't ignore how good you are."

She Keeps Her Skin Moisturized

Petras shared some of her skincare secrets in an interview with Parade. She says that she makes sure to keep her skin moisturized. "I have really dry skin, so if I don't take care of it, it literally starts pulling. My skin is so dry; it starts to hurt. So I try to moisturize. And I already try to drink a lot of water and hydrate, but it doesn't really change it. So ever since I was a kid, I was introduced to moisturizer really early on and I moisturize every day. I love skincare."

She Uses Sheet Masks

Petras shares some of her favorite skincare products with Parade. "I love masks," she says. "I always have Korean sheet masks with me anywhere…I travel a lot for work. So if I go on the plane, I'll take Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes with me, wipe my makeup off and put on a sheet mask. I know it looks stupid when you're sitting next to somebody and you put on a face mask, but it's so drying and the air conditioning is so intense."

5

She Tries To Eat Healthy

For Petras, eating healthy is very important. She tells Parade that she always tries to find healthy options, no matter what. "I'm always on the road, so it's sometimes really hard to find anything healthy. I always try to find a Whole Foods or something like that, that I can grab some healthy food from. I eat a lot of sushi. But it gets hard to find healthy stuff when you're in Middle America sometimes to be honest. In L.A. or New York, it's a different story. And Chicago and San Francisco, obviously there are always good spots. But I'm trying in every major city at least, to find places I can go for healthy eating. But healthy eating is the basis of good skin and feeling good and all of that."
