Here’s how a fitness influencer eats and works out.

Mackenzie McKee is enjoying the beautiful winter sunshine in Florida, one of the few places you can rock a bathing suit even in February. McKee shared a picture of herself happily posing in a pink swimsuit and big straw hat. "Lord I thank you for Sunshine 🌞 #floridaliving," she captioned the post. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways McKee stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1

Fasted Cardio

McKee has type 1 diabetes, and takes insulin every day after writing out her daily goals. "I make a list of how I can work on each and every one of those goals daily," she says. "I then do my first finger poke of the day checking my blood sugar. I take my first insulin shot of the day and head to my at home gym room and do 40 minutes to an hour of morning fasting cardio. Fasting cardio means cardio on an empty stomach."

Eggs and Fruit For Breakfast

McKee says breakfast usually consists of one egg, 4 ounces of egg whites, 1 tbsp salsa, 1/3 cup oats, and 1/2 cup blueberries. "Eggs are one of the best dietary sources of choline," says registered nutritionist Jo Lewin. "This little talked about nutrient is needed by every one of us for the formation of cell membranes and for brain function, including memory. It's especially important during pregnancy and breastfeeding, when an adequate supply of choline is essential for normal brain development."

3

Protein and Avocado For Lunch

A typical lunch for McKee is 4 ounces of white fish or chicken, 2 ounces of avocado, and 2 cups of greens. "Avocados are an excellent source of monounsaturated fat and vitamin E, and are a good source of folate," Lewin says. "They also supply more soluble fiber than other fruit and contain a number of useful minerals including iron, copper and potassium."

4

Evening Workouts

As a fitness model and influencer, McKee frequently works out more than once a day. "The two gyms I train at are my sister's gym, which is kid friendly, or my own home gym," she says. "My gym is mainly a studio for filming my workout videos and hers has everything I need. I do go to a big gym and work with my trainer here and there just so he can make sure I am doing everything right and give me tips/advice. I also do posing practice at this time. Most of the time I'm training at a home gym while my kids are running around me. I do a different body part every day and I rest on weekends. Actually, I am pretty active, but I do not do my regular training on the weekends."

Sharing Her Workout Routine

Here is a typical workout plan from McKee:

"Monday= Legs.

Tuesday= Back and Shoulders.

Wednesday= Butt (Happy Hump Day).

Thursday= Arms.

Friday= Body parts I feel need the most work, and a lot of abs.

I incorporate abs in my daily workouts, but those are mainly made in the kitchen."
