She's Big Into Yoga

It's no secret how many benefits there are for your balance and overall health when it comes to yoga and strength training. She is a huge Yogi and prioritizes it, sometimes practicing two hours a day for six days a week. She really enjoys Ashtanga, which has a huge focus on cardiovascular fitness, combined with strength and breathing exercises. In addition to yoga, she's really into Pilates, too, working with her former instructor, Mari Winsor, she learned the practice and still enjoys doing it. "I will never not practice for 10 days ever again! Today I got my ASStanga kicked!" Miley said on Instagram.

She Stays Focused on Activity

A body in motion stays in motion. She focuses on incidental activity, so that when she's not actively working out she still prioritizes a lot of moving in her everyday life. Whether she's dancing around, walking her dogs or hiking with friends in LA, it's important to her to keep moving. According to the Mayo Clinic, adults should aim to "get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week, or a combination of moderate and vigorous activity."

She has an insanely toned stomach, with her ex-husband even commenting on social media "Abs like a ninja turtle," and she works extremely hard for it. Not only does she do core tensing workouts like Pilates and yoga, but she also prioritizes crunches every day.

She Cut Out Dairy and Gluten

She cut out gluten and dairy which she credits to helping her slim down and tone. She did have a lactose and gluten intolerance, so this helped her slim down greatly, of course, but she's since incorporated some gluten back into her diet.

She Transitioned Out Of A Plant Based Diet

Miley Cyrus went vegan for about six years back in 2013 before recently re-introducing fish into her meals. She generally avoids dairy, meat, eggs, and all other animal products. "Now I'm so much sharper than I was and I think that I was, at one point, pretty malnutritioned [sic]" she said, talking about moving towards a non-vegan lifestyle. "I remember going to Glastonbury and that was a show that I loved—I loved my performance—but I was running on empty."
