She Prioritizes Her Happiness

After leaving The Vampire Diaries, Dobrev told Women's Health that she always tried to prioritize her happiness in life. "I was like, 'Why am I here? What am I doing? Is it making me happy? What can I do to make me happier?'"
She Does Something Different Each Day

To stay in shape, Dobrev does a lot of different types of workouts. In fact, she says that she aims to do a different workout each day, and that it is paying off. "Doing something different [each day] has been the most fun, and I've seen the most benefit because you shock your system," she told Women's Health.
She Built A Home Gym

Dobrev previously did a majority of her workouts outside, at the gym, or with a trainer. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to rethink her workouts. "Once I was home, I realized I didn't have much [gym equipment] at home so I went into a mad dash," she says to Shape. Dobrev then built a home gym, so she could still workout while the gyms were closed. "I'm really proud of my home gym, I use it a lot," she says. "It's really nice to have that flexibility of working out, whether it's really early in the morning before I got to set, or really late a night when I get home from set, or after a long flight."
She Makes Healthy Shakes

Dobrev tells HollywoodLife that she likes to make a healthy shake in the morning, and shared her recipe. "I'm a bit of a creature of habit so every single day after my workout, I make a shake. It's a delicious coconut peanut butter from Hawaii — this brand called North Shore Goodies, their peanut butter, you can only get it there, you have to ship it, and it's really expensive but its worth it, I swear! I put that with chocolate protein powder, spinach, 1/2 a banana, almond milk, ice, water and cinnamon. It tastes like a milkshake and feels like you're cheating, but you're not!"
She Eats Every Two Hours

When it comes to her diet, Dobrev says that she always tries to have something to eat every two hours, and that this helps with her metabolism. "There was a period of time that I was working with a trainer, who told me you have to eat every two hours, so that your metabolism keeps working," she explains to Harper's Bazaar.
