1. She Doesn’t Skip Breakfast

Padma doesn’t skip breakfast, starting her day with a healthy meal of slices or chunks of papaya with dahi (Indian yogurt) topped with a small drizzle of spicy maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon. "I have to eat in the morning before my workout because I won't make it through my workout if I don't," she told Eating Well.

2. She Eats Yogurt with Every Meal

You won’t find Padma on any dairy-free diets. "I guess I eat a lot of yogurt," Lakshmi added to Eating Well. "It helps calm my tummy with spicy food. It also just makes me feel good. I think it's nice to have a little bit with every meal, or most meals, if you can."

3. She Loves Fast Food Burgers

Padma also loves a certain meaty treat. "When I'm not in the mood for cooking, but when I'm in LA, I will enjoy a burger," she told Mashed. There are two places she will go. "It's not just anywhere," Lakshmi revealed. "It's either In-N-Out, but I also like Astro Burger's garden burger, the one on Santa Monica Boulevard, not the one on Melrose." If she goes to In-N-Out, her order involves extra pickles and no onions. "You can tell I'm a burger geek when I'm in LA."

4. She Splits Her Plate in Halves

Padma likes food…a lot. To prevent herself from overeating she has a trick: She splits her plate into halves. The first half is filled up with 50 percent fruits and vegetables, and the other 50 percent simple carbs, starch, and lean protein, she dished to Women’s Health.

5. She Detoxes

During the average season of Top Chef, Padma gains up to 17 pounds due to the insane amount of food and calories she needs to consume. Post season, she does a food detox. “It’s no sweets, no red meat, no wheat, no alcohol, no fried food, no dairy except for cottage cheese or low-fat yogurt. But this is a milder version—like, I can fall off the wagon one day a week,” she told Health.

1. She Works Out Reguarly

Lakshmi has to eat a lot more food than most people, since she’s the host of both Top Chef and Taste The Nation. Naturally, she has to work out a lot more than most people. "Honestly, the secret is just living in the gym," she says to E! News. "I spend a lot of time working out. I work out at least five or six days a week for one or two hours a day. I have to, because I'm working with food. I have two TV shows that both require me to eat a ton of food."

2. She Focuses On Her Fitness, Rather Than Her Diet

2021 Billboard Music Awards - BackstageRich Fury/Getty Images

When it comes to her diet, Lakshmi doesn’t restrict herself. She tells E! News that she focuses on working out more, rather than what she eats. She says that this is a healthier mindset for her to have. "It just takes a lot of hard work, but I'd rather eat more food that I enjoy and just put more time in in the gym, than starve myself because that's not healthy, and I'm not capable of that anyways."

3. She Cooks

Global Citizen Live, New YorkNoam Galai/Getty Images

Lakshmi is a cookbook author and likes to make a lot of her own meals. She tells Women’s Health that she eats a lot of her own cooking. “We cook one fresh meal a day in our home, and that’s usually dinner,” she says. “I purposely cook extra so I will have enough for lunch.”

4. She Does Pilates

One of Lakshmi’s favorite ways to workout is doing Pilates. “I started going to Pilates a few years ago, because my chiropractor recommended it for my back,” she says to Women’s Health. “Pilates changed my body. It made me strong in places I didn’t know I needed to be. I have a" backside"now that I didn’t have during my modeling career!”

5. She Loves Honey On Her Skin

For Lakshmi, honey isn’t just a treat, it’s a skincare tool. She tells Byrdie that she uses honey on her skin, and has been doing this for a long time. “When I used to travel and I didn't have a lot of money, I would always find honey on the breakfast tray at a hotel or something. You just wash and cleanse your skin, take all the makeup off, pat your skin dry, and then slather honey all over your face, avoiding the delicate eye area. And then you just tap your fingers on your face, almost like you're playing piano on your skin. And what that does is pull out the impurities in your pores without upsetting the pH balance.”

Palak maintains a healthy diet. “I have always been a very clean and healthy eater. I was always trying to keep myself healthy and eat the right food to keep my skin and hair healthy,” she told Telly Chakkar. “When it comes to diet, it's not just that you only have to eat healthy food. People feel life is short and one should eat whatever they like. I was like this but we should take care of our bodies, especially after the COVID times. I feel the diet is a very important part even more necessary than a diet.” Some of her go-to foods include oats, dal, and green vegetables. “I also prefer eating ghar ka khana,” she said.

2. She Works Out

“Fitness has definitely changed my life,” she confessed to Telly Chakkar. I joined the gym 4 to 5 months ago and have started learning kickboxing, kathak, and gymnastics. I feel you can keep yourself fit with lots of activities.” She also enjoys swimming and dancing. “You can choose according to your comfort,” she said.

3. She Does Yoga

“I am a yoga person and practising it for a long time,” Palak told Telly Chakkar. “Whenever I am home during my day off, I do yoga at home. I feel yoga gives mental peace to me so I do that often.” “Yoga is about self expression. It is about finding your own rhythm, your own path,” she captioned a post.

4. She Enjoys Working Out in a Gym

While she “used to prefer working out at home,” Palak enjoys going to the gym. “But nowadays, I am going to the gym. I am doing kickboxing, My gym mode is on as I have a gym in my building. I am really loving it.”

5. She Cheats Once a Week

PalakkSindhwaniPalak Sindhwani/Instagram

Palak indulges on occasion. “I do prefer cheat meals once a week,” she told Telly Chakkar. “When I go out with my friends, I do have cheat meals at that time.” “Don’t plan a cheat meal just for the sake of having a cheat meal,” advises registered dietitian Kate Patton, RD, to the Cleveland Clinic. “You can always try to go slow at first. Maybe allow yourself to step off your diet just for a very special occasion. If you discover then that it’s not for you, then don’t force it.” “It’s about maintaining a healthy balance overall,” says Patton. “It’s possible to have a healthy diet or meal plan that doesn’t cut anything out, it just shifts the focus to portion control.”

Lakshmi has amazing skin. She shared some of her favorite products in an interview with Byrdie. “The biggest thing for skin, and it doesn't cost a lot of money, is honey,” Lakshmi says. “When I used to travel and I didn't have a lot of money, I would always find honey on the breakfast tray at a hotel or something. You just wash and cleanse your skin, take all the makeup off, pat your skin dry, and then slather honey all over your face, avoiding the delicate eye area. 2. She Uses Tea Tree Oil

Celebrity Sightings In Los Angeles - May 1, 2023Hollywood To You/Star Max/GC Images via Getty Images

Lakshmi tells Byrdie that she also likes to use tea tree oil. “Get a little bottle and keep it with your other skincare. You know, when I'm doing Top Chef, I'm putting on TV makeup every day, and all day they're adding powder, so my skin can get clogged and I can break out. So I always just ask for a big bowl of boiling water (you can just make it with a kettle), and I put five or six drops of tea tree oil in that boiling water. Then I take a big towel, put it over my head, and I steam my face. Just like you'd do with Vicks VapoRub if you had a cold. And it can sting—even the steam can sting your lips sometimes. But it's really good because it gets that antiseptic in there gently.”

3. She Eats A Plant-Based Diet

2023 TIME100 GalaPatrick McMullan via Getty Images

Lakshmi opened up about her diet in an interview with Into The Gloss. She says that she eats a mostly plant-based diet, and limits that amount of meat in her diet. “I’ve actually gone back to eating a lot like I ate when I was a child,” she says. “Which is really mostly plant-based. Once in a while some bacon or veal, but mostly it’s just poultry and fish. A lot of lentils, a lot of beans—50% of my diet is fruits and vegetables.”

4. She Has Fruits & Veggies With Every Meal

PadmaLakshmiPadma Lakshmi/Instagram

Lakshmi tells Into The Gloss that she eats a lot of fruits and vegetables. She says that she makes sure to eat them with every meal. “For breakfast today, I had a big bowl of pomegranate, and then I had a big bowl of avocado,” she explains. “I had one egg, and one piece of sourdough toast. So, there is protein and starch, but it’s mostly fruit and vegetables. I try to do that every meal. Like, last night we had spaghetti pie for dinner—it was a very decadent evening! But I made sure that we had a salad, too. Regardless, I think that if you make a point to have 50% fruits and vegetables, then it’s easier. And eat those first—the order you eat your food matters, not just what you eat.”

5. She Does A Variety Of Workouts

Padma-LakshmiPadma Lakshmi/Instagram

Lakshmi also shared some of her favorite exercises in her Into The Gloss interview. She says that she likes to do a variety of workouts. “I do everything,” she says. “If I think it’ll help, I do it. I box, I jump rope, I do calisthenics—old-school pushups, and mountain climbers, and sit ups. Things you can do on the floor without any help.”

Indian actress Kate Sharma is enjoying a magical trip to the island of Koh Samui, Thailand. Sharma shared a reel of herself swimming in a beautiful pool, wearing a bright pink swimsuit and sarong, with palms and blue skies in the background. “Poolside paradise 😍,” she captioned the post. How does she stay so fit? 1. Fresh Lime Soda

Sharma’s go-to drink is fresh lime soda. “Limes are packed with antioxidants and phytonutrients," says Carly Sedlacek RDN, LD. “Limes are low in calories, high in micronutrients and punch above their weight with regard to both water and fiber content. They’re really good for us, but most of us aren’t going to make a snack of them. The juice — without added sugar — is the best we can do.”

2. Running Outside

Sharma loves running outside, especially at the beach. “There’s good evidence that spending time outside can reduce stress, depression levels, and anxiety,” says Josh Lawler, a UW environmental & forest sciences professor. “We suspect that one of the routes for the physical benefits is through [the] decreased stress and anxiety.”

3. She Chooses Happiness

Sharma says she chooses happiness in her personal life. “I don't date much but I have had rough patches in relationships. Ups and down are part of life and moving on is an art of life,” she says. “Break ups were there but that all made me so strong and I am a girl who looks at the broader aspect in life. So pain was there but feeling the pain and being sad is a choice.

So I chose happiness. It took time to heal but today I learned happiness is the most important thing in this world.”

4. Bathing Beauty

Sharma loves to take baths. “Taking a bath has great physical and mental health benefits,” says family medicine provider Amy Zack, MD. “Soaking in a tub is something many people have access to but don’t take advantage of enough. But it can be beneficial for a lot of people.”

5. She Is an Artist

When it comes to her career, Sharma loves the benefits creativity brings to her life. “Artist is an artist, no matter where he/she performs," she says. "It’s always a pack of feelings and entertainment which we have to give to the audience. Films and music videos both tell a story. The only difference is that films are on a larger scale in every form, while music videos take less time but require the same level of consistency and hard work as an artist."

Bianca Bustamante is revving up her engine in 2025 – in her workout gear. In a new social media post, the racecar driver reveals she is taking “the next major step” in her physical journey as a race driver “and I’ve set the target high!” she says in a new Instagram post, filled with video clips of herself lifting heavy weights at the gym. “Never been more motivated in my life, it’s not physically easy for a girl in this sport, but I’m super excited to take on this new challenge and the next big step on my racing journey,” she added. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are her top lifestyle tips.

Lifting Weights

Bianca spends hours at the gym where she focuses on strength training along with endurance, cardio, reaction time, and reflexes. “You know, to be a driver, it’s a complete package. It takes strength. It takes mental fortitude. It takes reflexes, smart thinking, and survival skills,” she told MEGA Active. “Sometimes it's for the body, sometimes it's for the mind. Nothing more peaceful than early sessions,” she captioned an Instagram post of one of her sessions.

In her recent post, Bianca reveals that she working extra hard at the gym. “I’ve been working hard over the years to build a solid foundation, but in 2025, I’ll be working with @j_w_90 and I’m doubling down on my training. Increasing to two workouts a day not just on lifts but aerobic endurance, as well as a better focus on nutrition and rest, in order to raise the bar to compete in the higher formulas,” she said.

Fueling Your Body With Protein

Bianca makes sure to eat enough protein in order to build more muscle and stay as lean as possible to meet the weight requirement. “It’s been a really cool journey seeing my body develop and transform into this whole different person I never knew I could become,” she said. In her new post she added that she is meal prepping. “I’m soooo all in that im even learning how to cook & meal prep better than ever before,” she writes.

Taking Cold Plunges

As for recovery, cold plunging is part of Bianca’s training regime. Limited research supports the benefits of cold plunges, which may include easing sore muscles, bringing body temperature down, increasing focus, improving sleep, and decreasing inflammation, per the Cleveland Clinic. However, a 2021 study found that cold water immersion therapy promotes post-sport recovery.

Working On Self-Esteem

Positive self-talk is also important. “Of course, I put a lot of pressure on myself, but in the end, I always tell myself that as long as I give my best and I learn from it, any mistake I make is valid,” Bianca explained. “I always try to repeat that to myself that I am valid. I’m here for a reason and there’s nothing I would rather do than be here.”

Dancing

You can also find Brenda dancing to burn calories. Dancing is an excellent workout for many reasons. It builds strength and promotes flexibility, helps you lose weight, and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop or die from heart disease than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues

Swimming

Brenda spends a lot of time in her swimsuit so it isn’t surprising she loves to swim. According to the CDC, swimming is a good way to get regular aerobic physical activity. Hydration

Finally, Brenda hydrates, especially after a long workout or sun exposure. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is essential for various reasons. Water helps eliminate waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature regular, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

She Supports Animals

Romani has her own charity, Help Miami Cats. She talked about how she started this in the caption of this Instagram post. “❤️ Guys!!!! I have always loved cats and had many growing up. When I moved to Miami Beach I met a great calico named Chacha and learnt that cats were brought to the city by Mayor Lummus … against rodents. Cats rely on volunteers for their food and water and there’s a huge amount of them. There’s a city program to Spay and neuter with the wonderful @sobecats ladies and the feeding is made official by a City Sanctioned badge, yet new cats keep getting dumped daily sadly and there’s a never ending amount of work, emergencies and so on. I was on a feeding rotation but during the pandemic I was left alone caring for so many as people left town or couldn’t afford feeding anymore …I decided to start my own non profit @helpmiamicats . We feed close to 200 and when Batman got paralyzed took him and other special needs cats under my care … @stevensachs69 with the cat room and the amazing people involved devote their lives to these special souls … My life has changed a lot too … way less spare time, way more sweat and tears and lost the person I had by my side who had sadly other priorities … yet gained so much love from these lovely creatures !!! If you can please get involved in any way … follow @helpmiamicats , share, volunteer, adopt … donate … Only together we can make their world a better place !!! And yes … just me feeding the kitties and talking to them … 🤷🏻♀️👀😆❤️🙌”
