Set Goals

In January 2020, Rebel revealed on Instagram she was determined to lose weight, declaring it her Year of Health. "For the last few years, I've been theme-ing my years. So I had the 'Year of Fun,' last year I had the 'Year of Love,' and this year it's gonna be the 'Year of Health' because I turned 40 this year in March," she explained during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. "I never really focused on my health, which was probably obvious. I was going all around the world jet-setting everywhere and eating a ton of sugar. That was kind of my vice. I have a very sweet tooth. I love desserts." In February 2021 she revealed to People that she dropped a significant amount of weight. "I'm feeling great and I lost 60 pounds last year," she proudly stated.

Flaunt Your Achievements

Rebel regularly shares photos of her progress on social media, flaunting her achievements in the best way possible. In February she admitted to People that she was showing her weight loss off "on Instagram shamelessly."

Realize There Is an Emotional Aspect of Weight Gain

Working out and eating right are only part of the equation to weight loss, per Rebel. "I think because I approached it from all areas … the biggest thing that I haven't ever worked on was the emotional side, what I suffered from, I guess, as classical emotional eating … so I really worked on that side," she told Extra.

Turn to Science for Help

Rebel relies on science for diet and fitness solutions. She told Extra that she got "all these high-tech tests done on me during my year of health," which revealed that "just walking" was her best fitness option. "They said that walking was actually the best way for me to lose unnecessary body fat."

Find a Diet That Works For You

The Mayr Method was a relatively unknown diet until Rebel put it on the map. For the star, it involved staying at a clinic, VivaMayr, where guests detox via spa treatments, mental health sessions, and a thorough diet and fitness revamp. Reducing gluten and dairy, eating high alkaline foods like veggies and fish and altering your dietary approach—including when and how you eat—is all part of the overhaul.

The Early Bird Gets the Weight Loss Worm

Rebel doesn't let her busy schedule get in the way of achieving her fitness goals. "This week was super busy but I got up super early 3 times (6am) and went on a hike…even did a couple of 100m sprints to get the heart rate even higher (although my 'sprint' is probably someone else's 'slow jog') but I felt proud of myself and now only 3kg's away from my goal weight!" she wrote on Instagram.
