She Loves To Dance

Hayek is a big fan of dancing, and she likes to incorporate dance moves into her exercises. Hayek posted this funny video on Instagram of herself doing a little dancing, while running on a treadmill. She captioned the post, "I hate working out, but I love dancing," which I'm sure many of her followers found relatable. "Aerobic exercise keeps your muscles strong, which can help you maintain mobility as you get older. Exercise can also lower the risk of falls and injuries from falls in older adults. And it can improve your quality of life," reports the Mayo Clinic. "Aerobic exercise also keeps your mind sharp. Regular physical activity may help protect memory, reasoning, judgment and thinking skills (cognitive function) in older adults. It may also improve cognitive function in children and young adults. It can even help prevent the onset of dementia and improve cognition in people with dementia."

Hayek's trainer, Sara Shears, says that the actress has a lot of drive and a great work ethic when it comes to fitness. "Salma is super smart and has so much drive," Shears says to Shape. "She always puts all her effort into her workouts and that's the reason she gets results. I can't say enough good things about her." "If the motivation comes from within, those people tend to stick with exercise much longer because they don't have a specific due date," certified professional trainer Alena Beskur explains to the Cleveland Clinic. "This is often the case for many people who have diabetes or heart disease. They become intrinsically motivated because they know exercise will help them in the long run."

Hayek is open about her love of cleanses, specifically juice cleanses. She loves juice cleanses so much that she even started her own juice company, called Cooler Cleanse. On the company website, Hayek wrote about her love of cleanses. "After doing a juice cleanse, I'm motivated to eat healthier and not emotionally. Cleansing is like my meditation. It makes me stop, focus and think about what I'm putting into my body. I'm making a commitment to my health and hitting the reset button."

Hayek told  People that "I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long," Hayek confesses. "So even when you brush your teeth, you're working the muscles." She added: "It's restorative yoga," she explains. "She taught me to tone [my muscles] without clenching them. You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you're aware of your body, you'd be surprised by the effect it can have."

While some fats are not good for you, some are very good for you, and those are an important part of your diet. Hayek told Extra that she makes sure to incorporate healthy fats into her diet. "I think people are afraid of fat, and fat is your friend," she says. "This is very important, and I make a bone broth that you can look up on the Internet. It's very good for your health and it's full of collagen, when you drink it, it's like fat."
