Salma doesn't follow any rules in the kitchen. She loves concocting her own breakfast special that consists of various fruits, vegetables, and berries. She shared her step-by-step guide to the hearty meal on Instagram, saying "it doesn't sound like it tastes great but it's delicious." For this, she generally uses yogurt as a base and tops it with blueberries, mango, pomegranate seeds, papaya, strawberries, red pepper, celery, cucumber, coconut butter, and almonds.

She's a Foodie and Doesn't Diet

Hayek is a known foodie, and doesn't want to just survive on steamed chicken and vegetables for every meal. She wants various flavors in her diet. "I don't like to diet and I'm not good at it," she admits. She's fine with not being stick thin and doesn't beat herself up when her weight fluctuates."I'm not a skinny girl," Salma said to Canada's More magazine. "I push it. I'm at the limit of chubbiness at all times, but I'm happy at all times."

She Loves Juicing

Salma Hayek loves juicing so much, she even started a juicing business, Cooler Cleanse, with her partner, Eric Helms. "When I feel stressed, I turn to food for comfort," she said. "After doing a juice cleanse, I'm motivated to eat healthier and not emotionally." Salma says a cleanse is like her meditation. "It makes me stop, focus, and think about what I'm putting into my body. I'm making a commitment to my health and hitting the reset button." According to the Mayo Clinic, juicing can have incredible benefits like aiding healthy digestion, boosting your immune system, and reducing your risk of cancer in addition to helping with weight loss.

She's Not a Fan of the Gym

Salma isn't shy when it comes to admitting that the gym really isn't what she prefers to do to slim down. "Some people have the discipline to exercise in the morning, and I didn't develop that," she says. "I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long. So even when you brush your teeth, you're working the muscles. It's restorative yoga."

Salma eats bugs as an odd part of her diet. She mentioned to Harper's Bazaar oftentimes in Mexico "have crickets, and then the ant's eggs and then we gave these worms. You fry them. If you fry anything, it tastes good, but they're really delicious. The bugs are incredible!"
