She's Not Afraid To Evolve As A Person
Hudgens has been in the industry since she was a teenager, and she's said that this has caused her to evolve as a person. "I feel like I've lived many, many lives just because I've been in this industry for so long," she said in her Glamour interview. "I had big dreams and was so excited and bright-eyed and bushy-tailed." Hudgens adds that the global pandemic has also caused her to reflect and grow as a person. "You know, I think it takes time to get comfortable with yourself, like truly comfortable. I know the pandemic – like having to sit at home with myself and really work on my shadow self; those things you don't really want to face – has forced me to grow because it's uncomfortable. Those are the moments that challenge you and really force you to make an opinion as to who you are and how you want to present yourself to the world. I feel like I've had that moment multiple times throughout my life and it's been evolving and changing just like I am."
She Doesn't Let Social Media Critics Get To Her
Social media is a great way for celebrities to engage with their fans, promote their latest projects, and be creative. However, it can also open yourself up to hateful comments and critics. Luckily, Hudgens tells Glamour that she doesn't let social media haters get to her. "Honestly, I don't have time to allow [social media] to stress me out. That's the space where I can share my life and be creative. It is just a place for me to keep my friends up to date with what I'm up to and where I am in the world because I do not stop. And at the end of the day, it's just Instagram. It's cute, it's fun. Believe me, I take to Instagram all the time for inspiration and makeup looks and fashion, and I enjoy it, but I don't really put that much thought behind it. It's just Instagram."
She Has Come Into Her Own
"Over the past couple of years, I've really come into my own. When you're fully accepting of who you are, and you stop trying to suppress pieces of yourself, you can conquer the world. I love how silly I am. I love how excitable I am. And I love that I'm finally at a place where I can access those things. Even the quirky stuff that might have been shut down by other people in the past, like being ridiculous with my friends, those are things I'm now allowing to thrive. For some people, I'm way too much. But I love who I am, and there's such power in that," she told Shape recently.
She Maintains A Positive Attitude
Hudgens says to Glamour that she maintains a positive attitude when it comes to her career and her life. "I tell myself the next thing that comes along will be bigger and better. I truly believe in divine timing and the power of manifestation, the power of being very direct about what it is you want and asking for it and having faith that it will come your way."
She Takes Care Of Her Mental Health
Hudgens says to Glamour that she makes sure to take care of her mental health and makes it a priority. "You've got to take care of yourself," she says. "It's easy to spread yourself in a million different directions, but at the end of the day, you are left to deal with yourself."
Her Latest Movie Took Her Back to Her Roots
Tick, Tick…Boom! has classic theater kid energy, in the best way. "I grew up being the girl in the sidelines, singing the harmonies," she told Shape. "That was my musical theater upbringing. Some of my fondest memories are of being in the rehearsal studio, practicing. Plus, I love singing. Any chance I can get to do it, I'm totally there for it."
She Works Hard In The Gym
A big part of Hudgens' life is working out and staying fit. She says that she always tries to push herself and work hard at the gym, even when she feels tired and thinks she can't do any more. "Sometimes I'll be at the gym and I will not want to do something, but I'll push through it," she says to Glamour. She says that these moments have a big impact on her mental health. "Celebrating those small wins is so important for happiness."
